Ovulation & cycle help

Hello,
I'm on month 3 of TTC and this month I thought I'd try to find out my ovulation trend so I bought some sticks and I've been testing for the last four days as it said to from day 10 if my cycle is about 27 days which is is for the most part. They've all been negative. I'm probably overthinking but I'm starting to get paranoid as my app says I'm in my fertile window.

Reassure me please!
Tips, anything!

What tests are you using? I use the cheap ones from amazon and I test in the afternoon / evening, between 2-10pm is best. I will test 2/3 times a day to catch my positive. It does take practice. Dtd regularly anyway, waiting for a positive opk could be too late (I ovulate on the same day as my positive opk usually). It could be you ovulate later in your cycle.
Good luck.

I found it so much easier to just use the Clearblue digital ovulation kit. Using the cheap strip tests several times a day and comparing line strength is such a PITA. Also using the CB it turned out I was ovulating a few days earlier than I thought

I'm using the Boots strips at the moment but I only have one left so I've got a wilko box to move on to. I tested when I got home from work today so 4:30ish.

Have you got any other signs of ovulation, like egg White cm or twinges? Have you got a second line on the opk?

I've never used clearblue - we've been ttc a long time (3 years and 4 miscarriages), but I've found the cheap ones easy to use and I concieved quickly once I got the hang of testing. Just need help to stay pregnant now!

Don't panic though if you don't catch the positive, it doesn't mean you're not ovulating x

ZZGirl · 25/11/2020 06:59

Not even a hint of a positive.
Cm hasn't changed much either, I'm starting to pay more attention to these things.
Hubs did some research last night and said my hormones may not be surging enough for the test to catch it but it doesn't mean its not happening

VenusStarr · 25/11/2020 07:12

Your surge can be really short too, mine is. Keep checking but have sex every couple of days as well.

Juno231 · 25/11/2020 07:31

I'd also add that the most common day to ovulate is CD16 so don't worry if you haven't had your peak just yet. I tend to ovulate same day as my peak so you potentially still have a few days to go per that logic.

ZZGirl · 25/11/2020 12:51

My other app (I'm using 2) products ovulation to be today so I'll test when I get home

OP posts:
ZZGirl · 25/11/2020 16:31

Still negative.

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 25/11/2020 17:28

It's entirely possible you've missed it, or you're yet to ovulate yet. Don't despair ❤️
I was testing yesterday and I managed to catch my positive at 10pm, today my lines are so faint, you can hardly see them. So it could be that your surge is short.

ZZGirl · 25/11/2020 18:41

I've been testing since day 9.
I'll do another couple of days till I'm at day 16 or 17 and then just stop for this month.

You need to keep testing, I have a 28 day cycle and didn’t ovulate till cd17 this month.
Also opks don’t really pick up a really strong line for me so I use the clear blue digital.

AnxiousBear · 25/11/2020 19:30

My cycle is 28 days, and I tend to ovulate on day 17 - keep testing.

I find clearblue really helpful because you just do it each morning when you first wake up. With the cheap ones I find it difficult to hold urine during the day etc. It maybe that you’re too hydrated/not holding long enough if using the cheap ones. Several times I have had the Lh rise on Clearblue, but not the cheapies.

ZZGirl · 25/11/2020 20:34

I might consider a clearblue next month if these silly little sticks continue to annoy me

ZZGirl · 29/11/2020 13:36

Day 18, still negative.
It looked like there was a faint positive the last couple of days but the box says they have to be the same colour and thickness

OP posts:
Lola19 · 29/11/2020 13:45

Don’t worry sometimes I would worry as I would get negatives opks when I thought I would ovulate and then it would turn out id randomly be ovulating late that month sometimes like cd20 when I was usually cd15 or 16

ZZGirl · 29/11/2020 14:28

I've run out of strips now so there's nothing I can do now unless the local chemist sells them for a non ridiculous cost.

OP posts:
ZZGirl · 29/11/2020 14:46

This is more stressful than I thought it would be

OP posts:
Chanel05 · 29/11/2020 16:40

I used the cheap strips from Amazon but tested multiple times per day from around day 8. It does mean that you spend half the month dipping sticks but I fell pregnant twice using those. Found the Clear Blue more frustrating!

Fisheries345 · 29/11/2020 16:45

@ZZGirl I am having the exact same thing. All my OPKs are negative I’m using easy at home. Cycle day 15 and none of my normal signs of ovulation, no egg white CM, no ovulation pain and now I’m worrying that all my stressing has caused me
Not to ovulation this month, which is making me stress even more 🤦🏼‍♀️. I am naturally a very anxious person and TTC has been a lot harder on me mentally than I thought!
Fingers crossed you manage to catch your LH surge and then of course get your BFP
