Hi everyone, I am new to this so sorry if I don’t do/ say things properly. I am 3 months into TTC and have started the track my BBT. Though it is confusing me! I have only tracked 6 days, and I thought I had ovulated 3 days ago, my temperature dropped quite significantly then went higher for one day, then this morning it dropped backed down (but not lower than when I thought I ovulated) driving myself mad 😩 I have had multiple endometriosis surgery’s and had my
Coil taken out 3 months ago. Thank you.

Hi @AG20 do you have a chart you can post here? My temp does this around ovulation, it goes up and down 3 times, I've attached my chart for info. The first time is difficult to work out what is going on because you don't yet have a pattern, once you've done it a few cycles you'll be better able to understand what's going on 🙂.

6 days isn't enough time to pick up any real pattern. You won't really know until you've stuck to temping the same time every day for a whole (uninterrupted) cycle

Juno231 · 24/11/2020 15:08

If you believe you ovulated only 3 days after you started charting then odds are your chart wouldn't pick up on it due to insufficient data.

Please consider using Fertility Friend for charting as that tends to be most reliable. Post a pic or a link to the chart when you can!

Irregular temps could also be due to how you temp so please consider if you temp at the same time every day, without moving first and that you're not taking the temp in your ear or armpit?

Hi @ButterscotchBabe and @MamaMoonbeam thank you. I had quite extensive surgery to remove the endo and worried this will effect my chances. Have never TTC before. I have started taking the pregnacare conception vitamins and tracking my periods ect... just feel rubbish already! Even though I know it’s super early to be worried. @ButterscotchBabe it won’t let me attach a picture as I am still new to the site. But here at the temps - started at 36.26 dropped to 36 exactly (which I thought was ovulation day because of the CM) then went up to 36.46 then down slightly today to 36.21. Obviously a few smaller temperatures in between but those are the significant ones.

@Juno231 I will definitely try fertility friend thank you. I am waking up everyday at 6.30, have the thermometer under my pillow so I don’t have to move much, pop it straight in my mouth as soon as I hear the alarm. So hopefully I am doing that right? I thought I had ovulated, had the fertile CM which increased over 2 days. I don’t know how quickly your fertility returns after the mirena coil? Saying all of this I might have not actually ovulated. I will definitely keep tracking and get a better picture of my BBT before I start worrying too much. I am putting pressure on myself already which I know I shouldn’t be doing.

@ag20 that all sounds good! I'm just asking as you'd be surprised how often ladies on here use a normal thermometer, pop it in their ear and then are surprised the temps are erratic. I helped one last week just like it and one the other week that had really low temps due to never having taken the cap off her thermometer for temping! Grin

But yes I think your approach sounds healthy - essentially carry on charting and see what happens.

@ButterscotchBabe @Juno231 I am now allowed to post pictures! So here is my chart. I got a 3 day increase which means my ovulation was a lot later than I originally thought. I know it is still may not be accurate as I have not recorded a full cycle yet, but is there hope or am I out this month? X

@AG20 you managed to DTD on O-2 and O-3, which are really fertile days so you're definitely in with a good chance :) Fingers crossed for you!
