Coming off the pill side effects

Im new so I hope I’ve posted this to the right place!

I’m thinking of coming off the pill soon due to being on it years and want to get my natural cycle back.
Recently I’ve been reading some awful things about coming off the pill, but the most worrying one is the hair shedding.

Has anyone experienced hair shedding when coming off the pill? If so how long did it last and was it noticeable?

I have thin hair already so would hate to lose anymore

Hi @Vic1994 I’ve been off the pill since the end of September and have felt so much better for it! There are a couple of threads on here and most have been positive. I haven’t noticed much difference to my hair really! Fingers crossed it is ok for you x

Hi @Vic1994 I came off the pill at the end of August and noticed hardly anything different. I was also on them for about 10+ years as well. My cycle has more or less gone back to how it used to be now. Everyone is different but personally I didn’t experience anything bad from coming off them and no hair shedding Smile

The only thing for me was it took about six months for my periods to return to normal

Thanks so much for the positive reply. I also have been on the pill 10+ years. Can't remember what I was like before it ! Can I ask what pill you were on? I'm on the combined pill rigevidon I think that's how it's spelt Smile

I’ve been on the pill for 12 years and stopped taking it last week, also on Rigevidon. Slightly nervous as won’t be in control of when my AF will arrive but excited at TTC Smile I always feel better in my pill free week so I’m hoping this continues now I’ve stopped! In other threads I’ve heard positive things too x

Sorry to barge in but I was on the pill for four years and I got pregnant within the year, even with it taking six months for my period to return to normal and I wasn't TTC so good luck, wishing you the best Thanks

@MissC07 please keep me updated on how you get on, and how long it takes AF to arrive. Good luck on TTC Thanks

Aquarius111 · 24/11/2020 18:01

@MissC07 forgot to mention I'm on the exact same pill rigevidon Smile

MissC07 · 24/11/2020 19:14

@Closingtime94 Thanks so much, i'm really nervous that something will be wrong and I'll struggle to conceive but that's lovely positive news x
@Aquarius111 Of course! Will keep you updated with how things go x

Aquarius111 · 24/11/2020 19:46

@MissC07 thanks so much. I've heard you are very fertile in the first 3 months of coming off the pill, and I've also heard of women getting pregnant before getting their first AF. So good luck! Grin
