First time TTC I have no idea where my periods are at, been bleeding for 2 year whilst on the pill.
How do I go about tracking ovulation etc?
Any tips or apps to use?
Thank you!

I use Femometer to read OPKs and Fertility Friend to chart temperature and monitor everything. To track ovulation to an exact day, you'll need to use OPKs and chart your temperature. OPKs will show you when you're about to ovulate and your temperature will tell you when you have ovulated. Happy to discuss further if you need more details 🙂

Hey lovely,

Good luck on your TTC journey! We're month 4 on trying for our first & I've been using the Premom app. I really like it as you can track your ovulation sticks, periods, when you've DTD etc! Shows charts of your peaks from prev months to compare with this months - it's a really handy little app.

I also use easy@home ovulation strips from Amazon, £10 for a box of 50! Just don't stress yourself out with these, some people say give it 6 months of enjoying the every other day DTD & you'll be fine! Which is so true but I'm also a bit OCD with making sure my body is doing what it should be after a chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage at 5 weeks on month 2 of TTC - I never realised how common they are!! But I guess that's one of those things with testing before AF is due! Also everyone will tell you to buy a first response early response test if testing early (FRER - If youve not already seen those sorts of posts!) as they're the golden sticks everyone loves - to be fair, they're really sensitive!

Once you've had your first official period after coming off the pill, start doing 1 a day ovulation sticks (best in the afternoon/not first morning wee as surges normally happen in the afternoon!), until about day 12 maybe and then start doing 2 a day, (this is if you have a 28 day cycle) as normally you'd expect to ovulate around day 14 buttt of course everyone is different! I have a 35 day cycle and ovulate near enough bang on CD21 every month which is totally normal too!

Here's my ovulation strips from this month - from tomorrow I'll probably test 2/3 times a day until I see my LH surge and then I'm likely to ovulate 12-48 hours after that surge/peak! Then you're into the dreaded two week wait of symptom spotting all whilst every symptom is the same as the lovely AF arriving!

Hope I've not rambled on with a load of nonsense and completely confused you/repeated what you already know! Best of luck xx

@rachel93x Brilliant thank you so much for your help!
I guess it might take a bit of practice but hopefully time is on our side and even if it is a long journey we will still be fairly young parents!
