I’m 38. 39 in feb.
Dd is 3 months. EBF which is going well but I would love one or 2 more dc......
But do I need to limit how long I bf for to be able to ttc again as my age is against me ? But then I don’t want to cut it short when it’s going well in case I then can’t get pregnant again and I regret it

I'd carry on bf and just not take any precautions. After 9 months, see where you are and how you feel.

You need to give your body time to recover anyway.

Yes I suppose that is a good idea as bf is going so well I’d hate to stop too soon I suppose when she starts food at 6 months too then my periods might come back ?

My periods came back around 9/10 months.

Breastfed till 13 months when I was 4-5 weeks pregnant as my nipples couldn't take it any more.

I'm in my 30s but I know 3 people who got pregnant while breastfeeding all just before 1st birthday or just after. Good luck!

That would be perfect timing for us I hope I’m that lucky. But it’s just my age I’ll be 39 soon so not sure how it’ll go I suppose I’ll have to wait and see it’s just making me anxious already !

I had dc4 at 40, breastfed him til 1yr. Periods returned by 7m. Pregnant again at 14m post birth aged 41.

babybabyB · 23/11/2020 13:29

That’s amazing @BurningBenches did you take any supplements or anything or were you just lucky ? I was looking at the ‘it starts with the egg’ book and thinking I should maybe take some vitamins

@babybabyB I hate to say but just lucky.
DS took 19m of supplements and opks and tracking. Whereas this was definitely more ntnp. That's probably not helpful but hopefully hopeful if that makes sense.

Provided the supplements are ok with breastfeeding, I'd go for it.

I fell pregnant while breastfeeding my DD. We started trying when she was 6 months and I fell when she was 7 months. I unfortunately miscarried, I’ve had others, so was hard but not such a surprise.
We are trying again now she is 13 months, I’m 41 so know times not on my side.
