TTC after implant removal

I had my implant removed almost a month ago now, I have taken ovulation tests almost every day and it says I havent ovulated at all. My boobs are so sore and nipples even more so. Has anyone else experienced this after the implant has been removed? I am super new to mumsnet so indont know all the acronyms yet so be gentle! 😁
(Presuming TTC is trying to conceive)

Hi OP, welcome Smile I came off the implant a few months ago in July and for the first month had lots of weird symptoms that felt like pregnancy symptoms but weren’t. For me it took 41 days to get a proper period, and although I wasn’t tracking ovulation I don’t think I started ovulating until the following cycle based on noticing cervical mucus. I decided to just let my body even out (my cycles were ranging from 41-21 days), didn’t track anything and to my surprise found out I was pregnant in October.

I read lots of different posts on here from women coming off the implant, and all I could really take from it is that everybody reacts differently - some fell pregnant before their periods even returned and some were still waiting for a first cycle 6 months post removal. Hope my experience helps and best of luck TTC.

Hi OP, I got my implant take out on 13 May, AF arrived on 6 June. I have ovulated every cycle since then but my cycles (and in particular my luteal phases) have been quite short - longest cycle 25 days, longest LP 9 days. I am hoping with time my hormones will readjust but getting rather impatient!

Good luck!

Thanks both! Things seem to be calming down a bit. Although I've gained weight and have dry mouth but I'm starting to think i am just seeing symptoms because I want to believe that they are there? Will see in a few weeks 😊

Hey,
I had mine out in August AF started October but since then nothing. Done pregnancy test but they are all negative. Guessing it's my body working it's self out cause I've been feel bloated a lot. Trying to stay positive, and also get impatient 🤣

MrsDyerToBe · 24/11/2020 10:34

@Caskio I am super impatient 🤣 I hope everything sorts itself out quickly for you! Keep me posted! I have bought ovulation strips and and now the pregnancy test strips too lol (arriving today) but haven't actually had a period or ovulated since implant out unless it happened literally as I had the implant out! Considering a basal thermometer too. I should just let it go lol but I know it sounds silly but I am working to a time frame at the moment cause I'm getting married and dont want to be pregnant at the wedding but would be super pleased if bundle of joy appeared before hand!❤

@MrsDyerToBe thank you☺️ Oooo you got a temperature thingy, I have got the ovulation tests every time I use them it's always negative kind of given up on them but it’s cheaper to pee on one of those than a pregnancy test🤪 maybe I should get one? though I think my friend would kill me, she thinks I’m stressing too much about it already. can’t help it it’s hard to not think about it when you want it so much. when’s the big day? Has Covid affected it taking place much? my friend is having to reschedule hers which is in March. on the plus side I won't be too big to fit into the dress I bought for it at this rate, we take our victory as well he can! 😂

MrsDyerToBe · 24/11/2020 14:14

@Caskio we were due to get married in March but have moved it to 2022 so ideally want to be pregnant my Jan or Feb!! So that I have at least a chance to squeeze into my dress that I have already bought!
I havent got the thermometer yet lol but considering it just to have the best chance but if I'm not ovulating at all, it won't make much difference 🤣
Yeah the ovulation strups have said nothing for me either all month, so I've got the pregnancy strips as well, arrived today, so ill give them a go once in a while because you're right, far too exoen to get clear blue each time 😆
