Ovulation test?

So me and my husband have been trying to concieve for about 5 months now so still relatively new to trying to find fertile windows etc. We already have 1 child, she was planned but i did very little research into ttc and we fell pregnant by chance very quickly.

Anywho i have downloaded an app which reckons i should ovulate around day 16 of my cycle. My cycle is always between 30 and 32 days. After a couple of months just having lots of sex around days 14-18 i decided to get some of the clear blue ovulation tests with a smiley face indicating you are fertile for the next 48 hours. So i did one last night about 6pm as its day 15 of my cycle and low and behold a smiley face appeared. Great, me and my husband had sex later last night. Out of curiosity i took another ov test this morning and now no smiley face. Does this mean i missed the window of opportunity? Is it worth me testing again this eve? According to my app I should be ovulating today so therefore most firtile right? Or am i getting it completely wrong?

Also is it the smiley face days your supposed to have to most sex on or the 2 days after? The instructions say it appears up to 48 hours before ovulation

Was the smiley static or flashing?

My first cycle with CB I had flashing and no static xx

It was static, but i dont think i have the one that does the flashing smiley as i believe there are two types.

If you've had static, you shouldn't be able to test for 48 hours? My holder wouldn't recognise any other tests until after this time - the holder just displayed static for 48 hours and then it went to a blank face after ovulation xx

Oh really? Maybe im doing something wrong? Do you leave the actual pee stick in the holder? I take it out straight away and discard and then the smiley face dissapeared by this morning when i tested again and just got an empty circle. Thats dissappeared too so i could test again if i wanted to.

I know there are 2 different cb tests. I have the one that shows you a 2 day window but there is one that shows a 4 day window, nkt sure if that makes a difference. I have used these tests other months and ive never had a flashing smiley face just either solid or no face x

You may have caught the tale end of your surge last night @Hpsaucey77 or some women only have a short surge, which would explain why your smiley face was gone this morning. You ovulate 12-48 hours after a positive so I would recommend DTD today and tomorrow to cover all bases.
