@gems05 Hahaha 😁 hopefully everything evens out for you now. ☺️ Fingers crossed for you for the coming month.

TheNewMrsW · 07/12/2020 09:53

Happy Monday all! Well I POAS yesterday at 10DPO and obviously it was a BFN! I'm not hopeful for this cycle given it's our first one, going to try to hold out till Friday now and see if AF arrives when due instead of (literally) pissing money away 😂

wrensandrobins · 07/12/2020 11:33

It could still happen @TheNewMrsW 10 dpo is still early! Fingers crossed for you!

I had a shock on the scales this morning - a bit of Christmas weight has crept on- now decided to lose that small gain and stay the same over Christmas! I really do not want to be gaining weight before I even get pregnant! Such a tricky time of the year though, luckily this year not much social stuff to get in the way!

wrensandrobins · 07/12/2020 11:34

All the best for the first cycle TTC @gems05! There is a few of us making the leap this month!

TheNewMrsW · 07/12/2020 12:02

Thanks @wrensandrobins we'll see! Trying to tell myself that if AF arrives at least I can drink over Christmas! But I'd happily trade the wine in for a BFP 😂

Curiosity101 · 07/12/2020 12:05

@TheNewMrsW I agree with @wrensandrobins - 10DPO is still early. If it were me (I have no self-control), I'd definitely retest on Wednesday as 12DPO is normally a reliable result.

Good luck - I don't think you're definitely out yet.

@wrensandrobins I said similar to my DH this morning. I really want to shift a couple more pounds before Christmas. I've had a few days off over the weekend so haven't lost anymore but am going to try and be good for the next week or so and see if I drop a little bit more weight. Currently, 10:10 and I'd really love to be 10:7 before getting pregnant.

CookieMonster3001 · 07/12/2020 13:44

Morning ladies!!

@TheNewMrsW agree with the rest! 10DPO is too early (although that also doesn't stop me from testing early most of the time haha) Implantation can happen between 7DPO and 12 DPO (if I remember correctly, and it also takes time for HCG to build up. I would test in another 2 or 3 days, or ideally wait till day of AF.

I had a massive temp dip this morning at 5DPO but I read this could be a corpus luteum dip... I know defo its too early for implantation. Trying to keep sane about it and not think too much into it, but its defo hard to stay off google when your on your lunch break haha! I have crazy sensitive teeth today as well which is odd. Only a week and a bit to go, hopefully I don't go insane before then lol. My nips are hurting a bit too but that's not unusual.

On another note, im thinking of getting something small for my family, (joint couple or household gifts) but really have no idea what to get. I was already planning on getting the usual box of biscuits or pannatone but I want something to get with it. We don't do individual gifts anymore, we just get stuff for the kids but seeing as 2020 has been quite some year, I wanted to get something nice.

I was considering making a gingerbread house but then I watched the xmas special bake off on the weekend and it put me off lol.

Curiosity101 · 07/12/2020 15:36

@CookieMonster3001 Haha, not long now until you can test! Fingers crossed for you.

I often get nice reed diffusers for people who I'm struggling to buy for. Also if you have any Bailey's drinkers I've bought this for someone this year: www.amazon.co.uk/Carthy-Black-Cream-Liqueur-Whiskey/dp/B078NTLND2?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Curiosity101 · 07/12/2020 15:42

I've had the day off today. DH and I have flown through our to-do list Grin. I've also done 10k steps already and still have another 3k+ to do to go and pick DS up from the childminder.

I'm CD3 today so have sent my CD3 blood sample off for female hormone testing - www.letsgetchecked.com/gb/en/home-female-hormone-test/

I've also got my repeat private thyroid blood test to do on Wednesday, really hoping for good news. If my TSH hasn't come down enough then we might decide to delay TTC until next cycle to be on the safe side.

CookieMonster3001 · 07/12/2020 16:29

OOO I do love a good reed diffuser! I ended up buying some personalised wine labels, and Im going to get some wine and stick that on it. @Curiosity101 fingers crossed for Weds!!

TTCWC2 · 08/12/2020 13:03

@gems05 Exciting on TTC this month. I think there are a few of us in the same boat. Just waiting for my next AF until we start officially TTC too. Due around 16th and counting down the days!

Anyone else find this bit tough?! Just waiting for AF to start trying/ go again. Time seems to be going backwards!

Hope everyone is ok! 😊

wrensandrobins · 08/12/2020 13:17

@TTCWC2 completely agree time is unbelievably slow atm! I just had my period and I'm waiting to be in my fertile window and I'm so impatient

Curiosity101 · 08/12/2020 15:06

I think I find it mostly ok up until the second week of the TWW. That's when I start getting a bit twitchy. I would 100% test from 7DPO if I hadn't locked the tests away.

One of the things I've found helpful is to not focus on DTD to make a baby. We just do what we do but without contraception. So although it can make a baby it's not about making a baby IYSWIM? I also try to stay busy, with work, Christmas, dieting, keeping the house nice, looking after DS and trying to find some time for myself the days fly by.

Except for 7-14DPO... That's where it all catches up to me and time goes about 3-4x slower than normal 🤣

TTCWC2 · 08/12/2020 19:45

@wrensandrobins I was hoping time would fly by with Christmas but it's quite the opposite. Just so eager to get started. We've been talking about it for nearly a year now so feels like a long time coming!

@Curiosity101 ah some great ideas! Not going to lie, I've been using Christmas shopping as a bit of a distraction. Not a day goes by without another parcel. Unfortunately most has been for myself 🙈😂 I'm really not looking forward to the TWW if this is what I'm like for just starting. So glad I have this space to vent! Envy my husbands ability to just zone out from it all!

Curiosity101 · 08/12/2020 21:01

@TTCWC2 Haha, tell me about it! To be fair you've been waiting for longer than me so I totally get the excitement to get going. I don't know how DH does it, he sounds similar to your husband. I think it's very different for them though, they're not the one's signing up for 9 months of craziness GrinGrinGrin

CookieMonster3001 · 09/12/2020 16:28

Afternoon ladies, hope all is well here! Been so busy last couple of days at work, not had a chance to come on and catch up with everyone!

OH's best friend announced his wife is pregnant yesterday and he told me and I tried so hard to hide my disappointment, but man I couldn't help it! Even he said to me he is happy for them, but he really thought it would be us next in our friendship group.

7DPO for me and I feel like it has dragged!! Still another week to go! I may get in a sneaky test on Friday before my sisters wedding. Was feeling all sorts of crampy until today and I feel nothing! Doesn't bode well for me does it lol. I'm sure I will have something to update you all with on Monday! fingers crossed its good news!

Curiosity101 · 09/12/2020 17:26

@CookieMonster3001 Aww that must have sucked. 😔

Please don't rule yourself out due to lack of symptoms though. I'm pretty sure most people don't have symptoms before their BFPs. I know I didn't notice anything with DS. I just tested cause I figured my period was probably due sometime around then. 🤞 For Friday. 9DPO is still early though. Sunday/Monday next week will be more conclusive.

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 09/12/2020 17:50

Hi ladies

How are you all?

I've been a bit MIA just jot been feeling great, work last week so was busy, only today has it felt better so I've been working late and then trying to keep the house tidy, spend time with my bf and raise a pup!

My eating has been an absolute joke! We've got a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge to have with a Christmas film tonight as well... no guilt!

So I finally got my referral letter from the gynae yesterday and then my private healthcare confirmed I'm not covered. Turns out the back log on NHS is back to March so I'm looking at mid-end next year to get the procedure done, which is to only really see if I am septate or have two uteri which he thinks I do.

So plan is to proceed with trying in Feb and gynae said to contact him when I'm 6 weeks pregnant and he'll arrange an early scan for me and then we'll chat about my medical options.

@CookieMonster3001 I have a good feeling for you this month!!

Curiosity101 · 09/12/2020 18:32

@sunflowersaremyfav93 Hey ☺️ good to hear from you. Sorry you're having a rough week and have a big wait ahead for potential treatment. You may well be several months pregnant by then though, I feel very hopeful for you 🤞.

Enjoy the Prosecco. What Christmas film are you planning to watch?

I'm well thank you. Christmas is in my sights! My last day of work is next Wednesday 😁😁😁. I also sent my repeat thyroid test off today. Hoping to get results on Friday/Saturday. I also sent my female hormone test off on Monday so am expecting the results of that any day now. 🤞

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 09/12/2020 18:47

@Curiosity101 fingers crossed I'll be heavily pregnant by then 🤞🏻🤞🏻
I want to watch home alone and my bf wants to watch elf 😂

Ah fantastic, when do you get the results? Are you going to start TTC once you have the results back?

OP posts:
Curiosity101 · 09/12/2020 21:22

@sunflowersaremyfav93 Ahh, I'm afraid I'm going to have to side with your bf. They're both good films but Elf is always the winner for me.

Not sure on results. I expected to get them a couple of days after I posted it but I just have to wait and see. So far the plan is to TTC from next week but it does depend on my thyroid results. I do think I'll need an increase in my thyroid dose but I have an appointment at the GP for 22nd Dec so should have those results back within a day or two. So I expect to be on the correct dose a few days after ovulation day. So if by some chance I conceived the first month then my levels should be pretty much perfect by implantation or at worst a week or two later. I'll be given blood tests every 4 weeks of the pregnancy too as they need to keep my levels correct at all times.

TTCWC2 · 10/12/2020 07:46

@sunflowersaremyfav93 So nice to see you back! Really pleased you've got an appointment through- it's all progress! With you on the eating front. I don't know what's happened but I've just fallen off the rails at the moment with eating. I went from being so healthy and aware to just eating whatever I want! I think it's this time of year with all the treats. Think we need to not give ourselves a hard time and just shake it off and pick up the good habits again.

@Curiosity101 will have everything crossed for you for starting next week. Let's hope the next few days go a bit quicker than the Past week has gone!

olderthanyouthink · 10/12/2020 10:10

Scan today, feel sick and anxious!

Curiosity101 · 10/12/2020 12:21

@TTCWC2 Thanks. I got an update this morning saying my thyroid test is being processed so I should have the results by tomorrow 🤞

@olderthanyouthink Oh gosh, that came round fast (although I'm sure it didn't feel that way to you). Fingers crossed for you for today. How're you feeling? What time is your scan?

Curiosity101 · 10/12/2020 12:22

*How're you feeling now?
