Hello!

Did anyone know they had conceived before taking a test? Did you notice anything obvious? Feel different? Or just know?!

Yes as always felt so sick and needed to wee even more than usual! And so tired.

justleavemebe · 16/11/2020 16:19

With my first three nope with the 4th and 5th yes.
My first give away is sore boobs.

fairydustandpixies · 16/11/2020 16:20

Yes.

DappledOliveGroves · 16/11/2020 16:22

First pregnancy - yes. Truly bizarre - almost a biblical experience. I just had a 'vision' (whilst waitressing one afternoon) that I was pregnant, that I'd be on my own and would raise the child alone. Took a test that evening and it was positive. Told the father of the child who immediately buggered off, never had any involvement with DD and never paid a penny towards her.

Second pregnancy (ended in miscarriage) - no real idea other than being utterly exhausted but really didn't think I'd be pregnant as we'd only started trying that month and I thought it would take forever to conceive since I'm 38. Peed on a stick and started laughing hysterically with surprise.

arcof · 16/11/2020 16:29

I was 4 days late and couldn't stop burping. That was the only clue.

BikeRunSki · 16/11/2020 16:31

Second time, yes. Overwhelming nausea.

sarahc336 · 16/11/2020 16:36

Second time round I knew I was before taking a test, I could tell by how my boobs felt, a very specific buzzy tingly type feeling I've only ever got when pregnant and a big increase in appetite. I was also monitoring my rhr with my Garminwatch and had noticed quite a spike so was thinking this too was a good sign. Xx

beanchopper17 · 16/11/2020 16:40

@ kinda haha not much help! I just felt different into the 2nd week of the 2 week wait. But strangely I knew I lost it as well (around 7weeks), I woke up went to work and just didn't feel pregnant no more. I had it confirmed by scan and multiple blood tests later that week.

AmyRose30 · 16/11/2020 16:42

Yes I know before I took the test for my daughter. I don’t get bloating or cramps before my period, and when I was pregnant I experienced both about 3days dpo. Sensitivity to smell at about 6 dpo, and very emotional around 9dpo. I am very attuned to my body so it’s not that surprising perhaps.

SinkGirl · 16/11/2020 16:46

Yep. We had literally just started trying that month (I had been on hormones for years for endometriosis and adenomyosis) and a week before my period I honestly looked like I’d had a boob job. They were huge, a different shape and hurt like mad. Found out I was pregnant on Valentine’s Day, and then at the 12 week scan found out it was twins, so that might explain the insane boobs, and the fact that I felt like absolute death for the following 8 weeks or so.

GrumblyMumblyisnotJumbly · 16/11/2020 16:52

Yes, I felt different, the only way I can describe it is a bit of a 'fuller' feeling or as someone above said an unusual feeling of weight in my pelvis and also a bit travel sick. I tested negative at first but I knew it and was right

JuliaJohnston · 16/11/2020 16:53

No.

BluebellsGreenbells · 16/11/2020 16:54

I knew the next day I was pregnant.

I felt it the first time as it woke me up. I could tell you the exact day and time I conceived.

Second time I knew when I woke up.

I don’t know how I just felt different

lookingatthings · 16/11/2020 16:58

Both times yes. First time I was super emotional and crying alot. Pregnancy wasn't planned but DH suggested I took a test. I was 8w. (On contraception so hadn't "missed" my period)

Second time we were trying. I threw up whilst having tea with my son. Knew immediately. Took a test. Bingo
Second

HorseyintheHouse14 · 16/11/2020 17:00

Yes - was having random cramps before I was due on which never happens. TTC again now and have a feeling I'm pregnant. Gone off my food already and slightly crampy.

JuliaJohnston · 16/11/2020 17:00

I felt it the first time as it woke me up
What woke you up? Confused

becca3210 · 16/11/2020 17:05

No. In fact I had less 'symptoms' and felt more normal than other unsuccessful months. Only different thing was my wee smelt weird! Confused

Hellomoonstar · 16/11/2020 17:06

No, I don’t get signs before af is due. But I would be able to tell if I wasn’t tracking by very vivid dreams that start around week 5.

My diabetes also gives me huge clues.

ParkheadParadise · 16/11/2020 17:11

No
Went to the doctors with a suspected kidney infection.
Asked if I could be pregnant, we both laughed I said no.
Dd1 was 23 I was 38.
I left the surgery in complete shock. The next day went to the hospital for a scan to be told I was 5 months pregnant.

Halfsiblingsmadecontact · 16/11/2020 17:36

1st - spotting rather than a proper period so taking a test kind of confirmed it.
2nd - like @NeedAUserNameAllTaken knew absolutely straight away and was working out the earliest day I could take a test. Which was the day before an important work exam ...

ChanklyBore · 16/11/2020 17:41

First two times, not a clue

Last four times, no need to test, knew straightaway when swinging legs out of bed and feeling the familiar PGP. Before missed period every time.

WonderMoon · 16/11/2020 17:43

No. I did have a little spotting a few days before my period was due which had never happened before , as well as extreme fatigue for a few days , also unusual.

BumbleBeeYellow · 16/11/2020 18:14

Wow! I wasn't expecting so many responses!
Nice to hear all your stories 😀 seems to be 50/50

With my first, I thought I had a stomach flu (I was totally naive). So, not at all. Pregnancy didn't even occur to me (I can't believe myself, looking back). But my periods were so erratic in my 20s, so I didn't even think about 'missed' periods. I was about 11 weeks when I found out! I went to my GP because I wasn't getting over my 'stomach flu'. She did a pregnancy test and the result of that test is almost 19 years old now. Grin
My periods ran like clockwork after having DC1. So that problem was solved!

With my second, it was the sore nipples that let me know I ought to test.
My third was a missed period, sore boobs that let me know it was time to test.

ShalomToYouJackie · 16/11/2020 19:34

Those who say they knew the next day after DTD, how can that be possible when it takes quite a few days for a implantation/fertilisation etc? What symptoms did you have that early as it would be 1-2dpo?

My DM said she knew the next day when she was PG with me but I don't get how
