Negative ovulation readings since miscarriage

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has struggled to have a positive OPK after a miscarriage.

I had a miscarriage a few months back now and am on my second cycle since. My cycles pre miscarriage we're 28 days and always had a positive OPK around day 14.

My first cycle since my ERPC was a very short 22day cycle with a heavy 2 day period.

I am now day 18 in to my second cycle and the period was for 5 days. This seems back to normal for me however I have yet to get a positive OPK reading on both cycles. I'm pretty sure I have experienced the usual ovulation pain around the right time.

I'm just curious whether I am actually ovulating or not or it could even be by chance a dodgy batch of one step OPK as I always had a positive reading throughout the 10 months prior to falling pregnant the first time around.

I’m sorry about your miscarriage. I too had a miscarriage in June and then a medical intervention at the beginning of July. It took me until the end of august to finally ovulate again! A crazily long cycle (and no period at all?!) ... and then it seemed to be trying to ovulate for a long time with two weeks of flashing smiley faces before I finally ovulated! Crazy. I did get pregnant though. I hope you do too... just rest assured that you’re not alone with the messed up cycles for a few months afterwards x

I never got a positive OPK on the three cycles after my miscarriage at 12 weeks and am pregnant on cycle three. I went off CM alone. (I very rarely used kits during the time I TTC because it often didn't work for me)

All the very best.

@LittleTiger007 yes I have read it is very common to have messed up cycles afterwards! It's just frustrating as I was like clockwork before.

Congratulations on your pregnancy and @Flittingaboutagain it's always reassuring to hear happy endings.

I do feel as tho I've ovulated this cycle as I had all the symptoms just not the positive reading so there is some hope! Plus we've been very active and trying very hard to make it a possibility this time round Grin I guess it's now the dreaded TWW

Good luck with the two week wait! I hate that time of uncertainty! With me it was way longer than two weeks... I got a very faint line at 6 weeks... very very faint squinter. 13 weeks now and expecting twins!

All the best to you - I hope this is your month! Flowers
