more likely to be 14 days before your period. are you definitely ovulating?

The answer to your questions is no.
Ovulation is not an exact science and a person can ovulate earlier, later or not at all in ANY given cycle.

If your cycle is consistently around the 43 day mark this would be seen as an irregular cycle. This is likely also to be an anovulatory cycle. If they are this irregular or continue to be so I would suggest you have a blood test done to see what your hormone levels are like.

If you have a blood test done the GP must compare your level of LH against that of FSH. If these two are awry (these levels are normally the same) then ovulation will be affected.

A "normal" cycle is a cycle length of between 21 and 35 days or with a variation of 4 days or less from month to month.

I'm definitely asking for hormone blood tests as I've got to CD40 again (BFN last saturday). Had EWCM CD31-35 which is far too late to be ovulating properly.

Not really sure if I should have been on this thread or started a new one?
I also have quite long cycles 39, 36, 37. (last 3 cycle lengths)
I know temp charting may not solve all my questions but this would indicate that I ovulate between 5 and 8 days before my AF.
Should I be going for a blood test. I am now CD4. If the ideal time for the doctor to do a blood test is CD3 do I need to wait another 6 weeks?
Just getting concerned that it appears that I ovulate very late in the cycle?, if at all?!
I have been TTC no 2 now for 6 months with no joy- just started to get worried. Anyone got any advice? please

simmo14,

I would have a blood test done to see what your hormone levels are like. If you do have such a test done ensure that the GP compares LH (luteinisng hormone) against that of FSH (follicle stimulation hormone). LH and FSH are important hormones as they control the start of the ovulation process; if these levels are awry then ovulation will be affected.

You can have a blood test done according to calendar days i.e the 3rd of the month, you don't therefore have to wait six weeks.
