HCG on LH tests - help!

Hello!

Sorry if this is a tad confusing but I’ll try to be as clear as I can. I’ve googled to no avail.

Cycle 5 TTC. Using SMEP this month for the second time.

LH peak on OPK was later than normal this month and I decided to test LH full cycle to see what it did as I always give up. Wondered if I might peak twice or find my “base levels”.

I’m 10dpo and caved and tested. FRER (pic 1) and IC (pic 2).

I also did my LH OPK and it’s climbing.

Now, I read somewhere that HCG can show on LH tests but can LH give me a false positive on FRER?

If you think these are negative, please say. Just, kindly if possible. I’m really really short sighted and can never see lines on people’s tests but this appeared within two mins and looks pink. I’ll add inversions to a second post.

Hi! That frer looks positive to me! I’d put the LH strips down now and test with frer again in 48 hours and I bet you’ll have a really strong positive! X

I would definitely say those were positives! Congrats! Good that they've shown so early too, test again with another FRER in 2 days if you can!

It is normal for HCG to give a positive OPK, I'm not entirely sure why but I've read loads about that. However, I'm it's not possible for LH to give a false positive. False positives usually come from evap lines or faulty tests I believe, however they are rare and the fact you've had positives on 2 different brands I wouldn't worry about that!

I’ve found 5 frer spare so I’ll do them in a few days. Due on on Thursday.

An OPK will pick up hcg and show a line as on a molecular level hcg is very similar to LH and it can't distinguish between the soon.

BUT pregnancy tests don't react to LH therefore I'd take also these as BFPs

Yeah I can definitely see it on both. If anything I can see it clearer on the ic!

Seen you have 5 FRER, I wouldn't take them all in one day, take one or max 2 on Tuesday, anymore than that will just be wasting them, they'll be the same darkness. Keep the rest and use the 2 days apart, so test again on Thursday say

I don't see progression but one app has seen it today!

11dpo. No idea how to concentrate at work. Due on on Thursday.

@NamechangeTTC it's still a good strong line, I'd say maybe ever so slightly darker, however hcg levels double every 2 days not every day so it's unlikely it would be much darker today anyway. I would definitely wait until Thursday if you can and take another with FMU. Cramps are completely normal, I've had them throughout this pregnancy so don't worry about that. They are good clear lines!

Tested today to compare to 10dpo. Not a huge difference on frer but i think IC is clearer.

I knew I was pregnant from lots of positive ovulation tests. I’m now 22 weeks gone x

@NamechangeTTC The ic is definitely darker! That's a really good sign, and it's a good strong line for being early aswell so I'd say all looking good just now!

Probably shouldn’t have, but continued to test the LH tests and as today is when my period is due I think it’s a good day to stop.
