Looking for some advice.

We had been trying for 8 months when I fell pregnant in January.
Sadly ended in a MC at 12 weeks in April.

Things returned to normal after 5 weeks and we've been trying every month since with no luck so far.

I know they say 12 months usually before you can be referred for tests etc.

Will they add the time together, or do we have to have been trying for 12 full months from the MC?

I’d say from before MC x

Sorry to hear about your MC.
Almost exact same situation as you with timings.
My GP is making me wait until a year after my miscarriage because I ‘can’ get pregnant. They did do a blood test and that month I actually ovulated, so there’s no wiggle room.
It’s worth speaking to your GP though as they may be different.
Good luck xx

Sorry about your MC OP Flowers

There's no harm in speaking with your doctor just to see what they say.

I spoke to mine today just on a general basis as although we're not actively TTC, we've been having unprotected sex for several months now and nothing has happened. I made the appointment because I have a past diagnosis of Endometriosis and am in my 30's so just wanted to see what the situation was. She advised me right away to book in for bloods for next cycle and take it from there- just to see what's up. You may find your doctor feels the same.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone for your responses.
It's so frustrating sometimes that it all comes down to how much your GP cares.

I'll give them a ring on Monday morning and see what happens.

Fingers crossed for you, I hope you get a receptive GP.

Wishing you luck.
I don't think it's down to how much a doctor cares. There is only so much money in the pot and I'm sure you'd want it there if you need it after trying from a year after your MC. I know you what a baby now and knowing how much a miscarriage makes one what a baby even more this must be really hard.

8 months isn't that long to have tried before you became pregnant so I hope you succeed soon. The only thing that I would say is if you are in your late 30's maybe have a chat with GP now. Good luck.
