Going for a blood test

Hi all

I'm booked in for a 7dpo blood test to check I'm ovulating. DH is also booked in to get his sperm tested. Just wondering, what happens if it all comes back ok? Will they investigate further or just say crack on and cross your fingers?

In my initial appointment my GP asked a load of questions and said it really doesn't seem likely that I have PCOS or endometriosis (the usual suspects apparently) so not really sure what would be next? Obviously I hope all is ok but don't want to be left with more open endedness

I'm in that boat where everything has come back okay. The next step is a referral to a fertility clinic where they do more tests I think - like HSG for instance. If nothing works then it's ivf I imagine, although I'd probably want to try IUI privately first (unless my trust offers it too) as couples with unexplained infertility tend to be the best candidates for it.

Saying that - I'm pretty sure my trust's policy says that I'd only get ivf after 24 months of ttc unless something is wrong. So depending on what happens I might go private with that too!

@Juno231 thank you for sharing! They have already referred us to the fertility clinic and said that our results will go straight there, not sure if this is usual or not as everywhere seems to be different! Our local IVF clinic has just been shut down so the nearest is now 2 hours away! Praying we are one of those that get tested and conceive before the results.... fingers crossed for you xx

I’m awaiting my appointment as GP referred me. Had 2 losses this year (chemicals).

No idea what happens now, just waiting around to be honest until I get my appointment letter.

GP done bloods just the standard stuff tho and it came back okay. The more nitty gritty stuff will be dealt with by the clinic I’m referred to I assume x

How long have you been TTC?
In my experience everything came back normal so I had:

-Further tests at a fertility clinic

  • a hycosy to check my tubes weren't blocked
  • ovulation meds (not sure why as I've ovulated 22 out of 24 cycles)
And the next step for us is IVF

@roxyfoxy89 just over a year. Thank you for the heads up and sending baby dust!

I've just ovulated way earlier than expected. My 7dpo blood test is now at 12DPO. Should I call and change it?
