Have I tested ovulation too early? Boyfriend doesn't like period BD so am I out?

I decided to invest in clear blue digi ovulation kit. I started testing on day 1 of period and got a low fertility. Day 2 of period I got a flashing smiley which means high fertility! Now day 3 of period I've got a static smiley which means ovulation!! So should I BD now? Boyfriend doesn't like period sex so I don't know what to do! Am I going to miss it this month?

I'm pretty sure if you're on your period now you're unlikely to be ovulating. This typically happens mid cycle (so a couple of weeks after your period starts). Not everyone has a 28 day cycle but this link should give you some information.

You don't really test until about a week after you've finished af. Are you using an app to track your cycle?

I'm tracking cycle on Flo app and so far its predicted my periods really accurate. My average cycle is 29 days

If it’s 29 days then you do not ovulate on day 2 or 3.
Almost everyone had the same luteal phase length of about 14 days give or take a few days either side. It’s the follicular phase before ovulation that varies a lot from woman to woman.
So if your cycle is 29 days you ovulate around day 15. Assume days 10-20 to be extra safe.

My CBFM tells me to start testing around CD7/8 and my cycles are 26/27 days.

OP your app may well be predicting your period accurately but ovulation will be a different date 😊 The function of a period is to carry an unfertilised egg that's already been released via ovulation out of the body, so you'll have ovulated well before your period appears. Hope that makes sense?
