Acne when TTC

Hi all,
I was looking for a thread to bitch about the terrible acne I'm suffering since trying (and failing) to conceive...and I couldn't find one so thought I'd kick it off! Anyone else in the same boat? Anything you're finding that's helping?xx

Funny you say this I used to get one spot few days before af have done for years however past couple months I have had such a spotty face! Wonder why

Hi @lastbany ! I've sadly always suffered from bad skin but since starting ttc in Jan it's unreal bad, and all over my neck which I've never had before except with bf my first kid. It's like sperm affects my hormones or something?! So weird. I've started using azelaic acid which is gentle enough to use in pregnancy (if it ever happens 🤦🏼‍♀️), and I think it's helping a bit. So over the constant monthly breakouts though - I'm 36 and have much worse skin than most teenagers! 🙄😞

@bmeggar mine is awful at the mo, but I think that's from coming off the pill in April. Mine didn't kick in until around 5/6 months off the pill, and 2 months later it's still terrible 😢

This was exactly me around 6 months ago. I came off the pill in December and the following months my skin got worse and worse. And I’ve never suffered before, not even in my teenage years.

I went to the doctors and they prescribed me a cream, which at first it was like my skin got worse! (Apparently it can purge before it gets better) and I’m so glad I stuck by it. Within a month my skin was looking SO clear except a few red marks I had leftover. I also swear by Zoebeebeauty (on Instagram, Facebook and a website) her green cream is amazing!!! I think that actually helped more than the cream the docs prescribed 🤍 if it’s getting you down please do see a doctor and push for some cream, mine were really helpful x

@Izzie94 it sucks doesn't it! Did you find your cycles were also all over the place along with your acne? I'm 7 months off the pill now and my body is still really struggling - I'm currently CD29 and only just had my positive OPK yesterday. Earliest I've ovulated in the 7 months off is CD25 and latest around CD40 eek! I also have a short LP. Really hoping things start to improve soon, with my cycle and my skin! x

@Izzie94 like you I never had acne or many spots at all as a teenager, so this is new to me.

I'm getting spots too, as I stopped using Tretinoin for anti aging, because of TTC. I didn't use it for acne but it clearly worked as I keep getting spots now, particularly under the sodding mask which doesn't help!

Anyone tried coQ10 for egg quality/miscarriage? Apparently it can also improve your skin! Naturally I've therefore just ordered some 🤦🏼‍♀️ skin is struggling at the mo post-2nd mc. Hoping it can help. Also going to ask doc for some prescription azelaic acid. 🤞it helps. X
