Is there any hope?

I also posted this in the pregnancy section but maybe some people here have went through this...

So I am 8w5d, I am 100% certain on my dates as I was tracking cycles and got a positive result before my missed period. I went for my first early scan today. It showed a twin pregnancy. One baby was measuring 5w6d with no heartbeat. The other was just a sac measuring 6 weeks with just a yolk. Because this was a private scan I was told to contact epc and have to go for an nhs scan Monday. Has anyone had anything similar happen and what was the outcome? I'm sure the second baby is not good news as was only a yolk at this stage, but is there any hope at all for baby measuring 5w6d. I think I know deep down the answer is no but im clinging to any hope possible.

@Bluejay123 I'm so so sorry you're in this position and waiting is absolutely horrible. Personally, it wasn't a good outcome for me. I should have been 9 weeks but measured 7. However, there are positive stories but not as many as negative. There's no point in me saying try and not stress about it because it's literally impossible but I really hope it's not the worst outcome for you. I hope you're okay and have good support from your OH. Thinking of you 💕

I'm sorry OP, it doesn't sound good. I've had three losses and one was similar to your experience. I went for an 8 week scan with my
GP and baby only measured 5/6 weeks, just an empty sac. I was also positive of my dates. I naturally miscarried a week later.
