Metformin and TTC

Hiya looking for peoples experiences.
I have PCOS but we conceived our first naturally after a looong stressful time trying. She is now 14 months and the prospect of going through it all again has made me so anxious. I spoke to the doctor and she has prescribed metformin to help regulate my cycles (normally anywhere from 35-60 days), so we can begin ttc again.

I started last week and on Thursday increased my dose to 2 tablets a day. Today I feel so nauseous. Does this feeling get better? Have people been able to get through and continue increasing their dosage? Any success stories?

Thanks 😊

You can ask for the slow release version which is easier on your tummy. Take it with food and I tend to take one at night so I sleep through symptoms.

It gets so much better. I was in so much pain, I felt sick, couldn't eat- all sorts for about 4 weeks. Then one day it honestly just eased! I went up to 2 a day after the first month ish which again was bad, and now I've increased to 3 a day and honestly it's fine I've had no side effects this time! It's made my periods so much better and it makes me ovulate most months. Still yet to conceive but I have a good feeling about the new dosage 🤞🏼Stick with it if you can- I know it's hard. Crossing my fingers it works for you x

Hi

I've been taking it since July, after a miscarriage in June as I read that it can significantly reduce chances of early miscarriage for women with PCOS. I similarly has nausea for the first week or so of taking it but now it's fine. I also always have it with a meal and just before bed. It's brought my cycles way down to 25 days and hoping it will help with TTC. Stick with it!

Thank you ladies for all of your input Smile I will stick with them for another few weeks and hopefully my nausea will settles down.
