Hey! I’m due between 16th and 20th this month... my cycle length is all over the place at the moment.

I think I ovulated on Monday based on a positive OPK at the weekend and they’ve all been negative since!

Realistically I need to wait until at least Friday 13th (if I go by my CD) to test but I’m not going to lie I have been using cheapie tests and testing this week even though I know it’ll never be a positive 😂

When are you testing?

lalababy2 · 05/11/2020 20:35

Haha it's just so hard to wait isn't it!!!!
I was testing so early last month too, then I said I'd be really chilled out about it next time and yet here I am.... I've worked out the earliest I can test is Sunday 15th, so I will start then!!
Fingers crossed for us!
How long have you been trying?? X

My AF is due 17th Nov but deliberately not been trying this month as I've started supplements and started to track my cycle so will TTC next cycle. Next due to ovulate 5th/6th Dec so aiming for that date. 🤞🏻

ButterscotchBabe · 05/11/2020 20:44

I'm due on 22nd Nov, haven't ovulated yet but I have 26 day cycles, so expecting ovulation in the next few days. I normally test before I'm due but can't give a date until ovulation is confirmed x

lalababy2 · 05/11/2020 20:51

@cloudydays7 I've been so bad at remembering to take my supplements this month, I have been good with my veggies though!!!

@ButterscotchBabe ooo all around the same time though! Exciting Smile

It's nice to come on here and realise other people are in the same little bubble as you!

@lalababy2 well done on the veggies, I really struggle to eat them, much prefer meat, chips, chocolate! Does diet really make much difference?? You only really need to take folic acid and Vit D, I wouldn't worry too much about other supplements.

@Forest27 are you charting BBT? That would help you identify if ovulation has happened

Forest27 · 05/11/2020 21:07

I know it is! I used to read these forums like come on ladies why are you testing so early it’s silly and a waste of money!! Yet here I am.. on cycle 2 officially a POAS addict 😂

I’ve been wanting to try for years but my partner was never ready! Officially started trying last month... I would have tried sooner but I had a molar pregnancy earlier this year (where it doesn’t grow right and has to be removed). Long story short, I wasn’t allowed to get pregnant for at least 6 months as my HCG was tested every two weeks to make sure it stayed at 0. It’s very rare and hardly anyone has heard of it!

But it was the LONGEST wait of my life... I don’t know how I managed it, especially when I’m struggling so much with this TWW 😂

How long have you been trying??

bluemagicalsky · 05/11/2020 21:07

AF due on 23rd Nov. This is my first cycle trying. Should ovulate in the next few days. I'm telling myself that I won't test until AF is late but let's see if that happens!
I have a dull ache in where I'd guess both my ovaries are, lasts for about 3/4 days. I don't know if this is due to being near ovulation or because I had been on the pill for a long time or something more sinister. Anyone had anything similar? X

Forest27 · 05/11/2020 21:12

@ButterscotchBabe No I didn’t really understand it until this month as it seemed really complex! I’d look at charts and be like what even is this 😂 but I will next month (if I’m not pregnant) as I think it seems like less of a faff than OPKs or do you need to do both?

Cinderella2020 · 05/11/2020 21:14

AF due 19th November too!

This is our second month TTC, first month using OPKs and I've yet to get a peak smiley.. so a bit confused and down about that!

Doesn't help I have two apps, one saying today is ovulation day, and the other saying it was Tuesday 🙈 but I've had a bit of cramping so think it might be today. Just wish the OPKs showed a peak! Anyone else experienced this? Using the clear blue ovulation kit with the app.

My cycle is usually around 34 days but last month was 38.... 4 days late first month of trying, you can imagine my excitement.. and then annoyance! Typical!

Forest27 · 05/11/2020 21:18

@Cinderella2020 Good luck! I’m also TTC my first!

I can’t help with the OPKs sorry! It’s my first month using them. I used One Step but I find them confusing 🙈

Ahh no!! That’s so frustrating! Why are our bodies so cruel!? I 100% thought I was pregnant last month as I swear I had all the symptoms including nausea and heaving in the bathroom... but nope! 😒

RichmondLady1981 · 05/11/2020 21:42

Hi 🙋🏼‍♀️

AF due 16th Nov. Can I join 😀?

RichmondLady1981 · 05/11/2020 21:49

I ovulated yesterday. The key is to use cheap OPKs with CBD OPKs and also track BBT. It’s pretty impossible to miss you ovulation date if you do all three. Just takes a couple of cycles to get used to. I’d strongly recommend using one app. Natural cycles is good.

The key to CBD OPK is that you start testing on the correct day in your cycle. Check the leaflet inside. Otherwise it can give you confusing results as the FIRST time you test is used as a baseline.

I get worried about testing early as can’t face a negative. I already have a little boy where I fell pregnant first month of trying. Then I fell pregnant second month of trying for my second but then had a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks (found out at my 12 week scan. ) So I’m now on my fourth cycle of trying again for my second. Fingers crossed 🤞

lalababy2 · 06/11/2020 07:27

@ButterscotchBabe oooh I am deffo a chocoholic! A bit of a tea and coffee addict too, but I've switched over to decaff and trying to cut down..

@Forest27 oh no! Sorry to hear about the molar pregnancy, that must have been awful, especially the long wait to try again, how frustrating!!!
This is our third month trying so not too long yet!!! It took 3 months with our first so I think I'm a bit more hopeful for this month but who knows

@bluemagicalsky hey!!! I always get random twinges and pains, no idea what it all means though! Nothing exactly like what you're explaining though.
Sometimes i am wondering if it's just in my imagination ahah

@Cinderella2020 yay same date! Exciting.

I haven't used any ovulation tests Cos I think I'd just be confused, so I've been basing it on period length which as actually been 28 days the last two months. One app said ovulated yesterday and one said the day before....

Oh no how annoying about being late! Let's hope this month is the month!!!

Hi @RichmondLady1981 !!

Looks like we potentially had the same ovulation date then!
Sorry to hear about it your miscarriage, so sad. Here's hoping to this time around!!
I have a little boy too!

@Forest27 I started BBT monitoring last cycle and OPKs this cycle. OPKs are useful for telling you when ovulation is coming, BBT is useful for telling you when ovulation has happened. So to get a better picture of what's going on, ideally you need to use both. Charting BBT, OPKs and CM is the best. I use the Femometer app to read the OPKs and Fertility Friend to chart everything.

@bluemagicalsky sounds like ovulation pain, this can happen before, during or after ovulation and can feel like dull aches or sharp, twinges. I get strong aches and sharp pain for several days around ovulation time!

What does everyone think about drinking alcohol whilst TTC? Some sites say you should stop completely, others just say cut down but cut down to what level?? I'm quite partial to a drink and used to regularly drink more than 14 units a week (mostly at the weekend!). I have now cut down to 10-14 units a week, is this okay or should I be cutting down further?

bluemagicalsky · 06/11/2020 14:19

Thanks @lalababy2 & @ButterscotchBabe I'll try not to worry too much about the pain at this stage then hopefully it is just ovulation pain and glad to hear I'm not the only one Smile

I'm afraid I'm not much of a big drinker, but I'm still continuing to have the odd cocktail or glass of wine while TTC. If it's something you enjoy, I can't see a problem with it, but then I'm no expert in the slightest! X

lalababy2 · 06/11/2020 20:24

I'm not a big alcohol drinker, but after I've had AF I would have a drink when I've been out with friends, and then tend to not bother in the days leading up to ovulation and waiting for the test!!

Has anyone else thought, if they do get a positive test soon, then by the time the tired and nausea symptoms start it will be just in time for Christmas ShockEnvy
