I got my implant out October 16th 2020 nearly 3 weeks later no period, is this normal? Could I be pregnant? We have had unprotected sex multiple times but didn’t think it would happen for a while as cycle hadn’t returned to normal 🧐 although would be delighted if I was!

Omg! How soon did you find out/feel pregnant? Although I know everyone is different. Extremely excited don’t want to get my hopes up too high though lol

At about 6 weeks when the puking started!

I had my implant out end of August and had a withdrawal bleed then 7 weeks later finally got a normal period which I'm just finishing now - have read a few people have experienced a couple of irregular cycles post implant!

I got mines out 6 weeks Ago.... still no period. Defo not pregnant yet either. Not sure how long it can take for a period as I have had implants 9 years. Hope it arrives soon

greypaint · 04/11/2020 22:40

I got mine out at the beginning of August and got my period 4 weeks to the date later. Still TTC, I did have a chemical pregnancy last month though. ☹️

I believe it can be possible but not very common to fall pregnant straight away. Xx

I had my implant out on the 23rd September. I had a withdrawal bleed 5 days later which lasted 4ish day’s. I’ve not had an actual period yet. Still waiting ....

I had my implant for 6 years so was super lucky to get my period so soon after removal! It can take anywhere up to 6+ months for your period to return x

Lemongrass9 · 05/11/2020 08:15

I had an pelvic ultrasound scan about 3 weeks after my implant removal and the lady doing the scan told me that she could see that I’d ovulated in those 3 weeks since having the implant removed, she said it was probably about 5-7 days after implant removal. I hadn’t had a period at that point.
I’m still TTC 2 months on but just wanted to say that it is definitely possible to ovulate, get pregnant, and never have a period.

Bertyb7 · 05/11/2020 08:19

I got my implant out on 13 May and my started period three weeks later. Still TTC- It has made my cycle a bit irregular and patiently/ wishfully waiting for my luteal phase to lengthen. I had a chemical last month, and then a 15 day cycle this month 😳

When they remove the implant it's literally like stopping the pill so u can get pregnant straight away although they do recommend you try and have at least one period before conceiving.

ErinMcG · 05/11/2020 15:37

Okay thanks for the information everyone, will keep you all posted lol

I had my implant removed on 19th October and got my period today xx

ErinMcG · 13/11/2020 12:26

Still no period for me and currently experiencing quite bad headaches, mild nausea, blisters in mouth and peeing a lot 🙈 going to do a test over the weekend but I honestly don’t believe it will be positive, I’m wondering if I’m imagining these symptoms it’s very strange!! Will update again

I got loads of pregnancy symptoms in the month or so after having my implant removed. Wasn't pregnant, just a hormone crash I guess. I had more pregnancy symptoms then than when I was actually pregnant!

ErinMcG · 13/11/2020 13:45

Maybe that’s what I’m experiencing, so strange!

So update ladies, took a test yesterday and as expected negative! Still feeling nauseous today thinking it’s a hormone crash as someone else posted! Will test again next week if not feeling better to be absolutely sure but seems to just be a side effect of implant removal😵

@ErinMcG
I had convinced myself I was pregnant before my period arrived. I read it can happen before your first period post implant removal. I also had some symptoms but test was negative and period arrived a little later. Keep us updated!

ErinMcG · 26/09/2021 08:51

It’s been ages since I posted this but just to update that I wasn’t pregnant! My periods didn’t return until January this year so about 3 months after removal! However they’ve been extremely regular since then which is something I never had before the implant. We delayed baby plans as we ended up moving house in February lol. Going to start trying soon - thanks for everyone’s help 👍🌈❤️
