Young and TTC!

Hi all,

Thought I'd make a thread for those of us that are young / in our twenties and currently TTC!

I'm 23 and we are trying for our first baby, having been together for 8 years now seems the perfect time!
Sadly we had a chemical pregnancy / miscarriage last month so this month has been all over the place, but I've FINALLY on cycle day 30, received my positive OPK! 🥺🌈

Would love to hear from anybody else In a similar position! It would be lovely to go along this journey with someone else, too 🥰

I should add - we have been trying to conceive for 4 months now 🥰

I’m 25 been with my partner 10 years Trying for our first after a chemical in September so this is our 2nd month having a go! I’m thinking if it doesn’t happen this month I might try using opks but I’m scared I’ll fall into the black hole of overthinking and over worrying, how has your experience been using them? ☺️

I'm sorry to hear you have been through a chemical, too.

I find OPK's really useful personally, as I'd have had no idea that I was currently ovulating without them! Xx

We've done 3 months so far, first two without OPKS going off my 'clue' and 'flo' app who both said I ovulated on the same day with the same fertile window.

Used OPKs and realised I ovulated two days later than they said, which was good to know. I think OPKs help, but it took me 7 days to get a static smile (I used Clear Blue 4 or more days which looks at Estrogen and LH) so it felt like forever to get that Peak.

Think i'll use again next month, see if it's similar and then might move onto the cheapies as it can be expensive!

@Sweetk0987poiu are you using an app at all, or just going off your own plans for DTD? 🥰

I'm 26 and TTC with my partner 1st baby.
Sadly same as you I had a chemical on my first month of trying, not the best start! On my 3rd cycle now.
It's very upsetting as you don't expect to conceive straight away but the excitement and plans all happen and then boom! All over, just like that ☹️ it's awful. So common though as you will know from these threads (which is kind of comforting)
Anyway last month my cycle was terrible, i ovulated later than my app said so due to CP (by the way highly recommend 'clue' and now 'Premom' apps if you haven't got one to predict ovulation)
I got the worst ovulation cramps which I've never had before too, we tried SO hard that month as apparently your super fertile but then I got my period.
Feeling optimistic about this month, started using the easy @ home strips along with the premom app and my ovulation day is coming up soon, they are getting darker by the day.

@2020TTC I’ve been using Flo for about 2 maybe 3 years now since I came off the pill to track periods 😊 I also find the app is a couple of days out, I use to get cramping when I ovulated but not noticed that for a while and Flo reckons I ovulate just a week after my period so I think maybe using opks could be good for me to get an idea! Last month we dtd every other day in my fertile week according to the app and this month we’re just going at it every other day for the full month lol feels like so much effort! 🤣

@rttcbabyno1 Sorry to hear about that, it’s definitely not the best start is it 😔 If anything I’ve been comforted at the fact it’s possibly a good sign of fertility! I’ve heard a lot about clue I’m going to download today! Fingers crossed for you this month, it’s really hard not to get impatient isn’t it 😩 ❤️
