Poor Ovarian Response / Create Health - any experience much appreciated

I had first cycle of IVF a year ago at the infamous ARGC - on highest doses but very poor ovarian response. (4 eggs but all immature / crappy). I have just been to see a doctor at Create Health as they do 'natural IVF' that may be better for people like me apparently. I'm going to have a doppler scan of ovaries to investigate ovarian reserve. Anyone have any idea how accurate this is? Any suggestions on how to improve ovarian function...?

hi julesrose.

can I ask what your day 2/3 hormone levels showed i.e was your fsh high indicating low ovarian reserve.

mine has been elevated for a few years which suggests reduced ovarian reserve and possible reduced egg quality. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the ovarian reserve but you can improve the qualtiy of the eggs left by making changes to your lifestyle and diet. Julia Indichovas book, inconceivable, is good as is marilyn grenvills book.

reduce caffiene and alcohol or cut out totally if can. Increase fruit and veg intake - a good way is by juicing. eat plenty of 'superfoods'. Drink herbal teas such as nettle and dandelion. Cut out meat or just each chicken and plenty of fish. reduce dairy intake. Theres also supplements you can take to improve egg quality like vitamin E.

Don't want to go on too much as lots of books around and info on web. I changed my diet a year ago and have not conceived yet but I have heard other stories where conceived after a few months when changed diet.

good luck

thanks for reply and advice..my FSH was 8 which I think is not that great but not that bad either. Apparently this can vary widely from cycle to cycle..good luck to you as well. Having buried my head in the sand since last failed cycle I am now feeling nervous and depressed - which can't help either!

also worth thinking about acupuncture if you haven't already.
