Chemical Pregnancy?

Hello, I am confused and assuming I am having/had a chemical pregnancy 😔
I bled a week early (from AF) from 16-20 October but the bleeding didn't seem quite right so I randomly took a pregnancy test on the 19th and 20th and both showed a faint but not convincing line. Then I took another on the 21st and it was a BFP. From the 21-24 the line progressed and got darker but then on 25th it got lighter.
Strangely yesterday (26th) the test was dark again but this morning it's very light.
I'm just wondering if anyone has had similar or the same and what happened next? I don't know if the bleed was the chemical or if I'm expecting another bleed? I'm guessing my tests will be BFN by tomorrow but not sure as never had this before?

No, no bleeding or pain but the pregnancy test was light again this morning. Haven't bled since the 20th

I've read about the hook effect? It may be that you've maybe got too much HCG? Only because of how it got darker each day and then faded out without any more pain or bleeding x

Perhaps the bleeding you had 6 days before AF due was implantation bleeding?

@Ladybird345 do you have any pics of the tests? Maybe stick to afternoon/evenings to test as there might not be as much hcg in the mornings if they are the only time your line seems lighter. Other than that I guess only time will tell, sorry I'm not more help I've had chemicals and they are so annoying to figure out using tests it just gets lighter one minute and darker the next day until it finally fades away and then I usually bleed soon after. What dpo are you?

Hello, thanks for your replies. I've tested again today and the line is barely there so I think the bleeding a while ago was the chemical pregnancy ending. I don't understand why my tests got darker after the bleeding stopped but I think it's safe to say I'm no longer pregnant. I can safely safe chemical pregnancies are crap and confusing 😔

Hi @Ladybird345 I’m sorry this is confusing for you, that’s really tough.

I think there are a couple of things that are possible. Because you are still getting some positives and up and down in lightness:

You’ve had a CP and the hormone levels Havnt dropped yet and are still showing up. It can take up to a few weeks.

Or it could be you just had a bleed or threatened miscarriage, and you are still pregnant.

How long did you bleed for and how heavy was it?

Watch the colour of your wee...is it lighter and more diluted when tests are lighter?

I don’t think you can be 100% Sure till you see a BFN that your not pregnant.

Either way I would make contact with your GP.
