Should I lose weight before TTC?

Worried that my weight will be a problem when TTC and if I did successfully conceive would this cause problems in pregnancy? I'm 5ft7 and 88kg, I wear size 14 top and size 16 bottom...
My job is fairly active I do around 6,000 each day from being active at work.
Any help or advice would be appreciated...TYIA.

I wouldn't put TTC off because of it but perhaps do it in conjunction with it? Any weight you lose before you conceive will help make your pregnancy, delivery and recovery a bit easier so is definitely useful. But TTC can take ages anyway so I'd crack on with it also!

Yes. Don't put it off but try to lose weight at the same time

For reference over on the Nov bus 20 there's quite a few of us doing things like calorie counting, slimming world, intermittent fasting etc whilst actively TTC.

@Juno231 thank you I will try and find the thread now...👍🏻

@KatieD5678 don't put it off, you're similar stats to me and I'm 8 weeks. It took 6 months to conceive and I'd lost about 10lb in that time
Anything you can do to improve health whilst you try will be beneficial but don't take it to the extreme as you can have adverse affect on your cycle.
Just healthier eating, less alcohol, try and do 10k steps a day and then regular sex. I used cheap OPKs because I had irregular periods so helped me to see when I was ovulating
Good luck!

@SarahTTC2020 Thank you for your reply! I'm being more mindful about what I'm eating and will try and get more steps in. It's mad how overwhelmed I'm feeling and not even properly started this journey yet.
