Ok so my title is a bit of a joke!

5 months ttc perhaps 3rd proper trying! Last month got opk and tbh it stressed me the hell out! Flo said I ovulated on day 13 ovulation sticks were still flashing on day 17! And I ran out! I have a 10 mo plus two older children so I'm hoping I don't have any conceiving problems! I got caught first month with my baby , think tht is why I'm stressing myself
Anyway me and oh have decided no sticks! And from day 5 (2 days ago) we would have sex every day and twice a day from day 8 till day 17 then once a day for rest of month!
And hoping this will help with me not stressing about sticks etc
I know they say once every other day but my partner is young and healthy so I'm wondering surely Littally having as much semen inside me gives me the best chance???

Jesus christ I nearly Just spat my wine out. Sounds exhausting tbh

lobster8 · 23/10/2020 20:05

And I thought we were doing well with every other day all cycle. Sounds tiring.

Olivebranch26 · 23/10/2020 20:07

@lastbany Well it certainly can't hurt to try lol if your both up for it then why not. I read a study online found that having sex twice within a few hours makes it 3 times more likely to get pregnant. Apparently the second load has more protein and therefore faster/stronger.... I've tried this myself this month but at only 2dpo I've still got a while to see if my theory worked Wink 🤞 for you x

lastbany · 23/10/2020 20:11

@Yorkshiredolls haha! If we don't have a catching title we get left behind all lonely 🤣🤣

lastbany · 23/10/2020 20:12

@lobster8 we normally dtd everyday or at least every other day when not ttc obv if we not Upto it one day won't force it it's just a idea

OP posts:
positivelynegative · 23/10/2020 20:15

Yes there can! Once a day ONLY was our consultants strict instructions.

lastbany · 23/10/2020 20:15

@Olivebranch26 really?? Wow that's so refreshing to hear this?! I just think every other day is just not enough! The strange thing is when I fell preg with my 10 month old (first month) I was soooo stressed with work and partner! I'd been out drinking tht weekend and was still smoking! Fell preg straight away! Now I have nearly been stopped smoking 2 years I haven't drank in as long (didn't drink much before) have lost weight and not stressed at all!! And 5 months on still not preg it goes against all odds lol
I don't like the temping and cm stuff I think that's you stress yourself too much so I'm hoping my idea works haha

itsafig · 23/10/2020 20:18

Genuine question: how do you manage it OP? Especially with a baby and two older children. I have a toddler and a 3-month old and we are having zero sex. There is no time or energy!

lastbany · 23/10/2020 20:19

@positivelynegative I don't mean this bad so please don't take wrong way (as I know how tx comes across) but do you struggle to conceive?
As I heard that if this is the case, however if partner is very young has lots healthy Sperm multiple times is no problem? As I said with my baby (10mo) I had had my coil removed then we had a very rocky patch dosnt speak for two weeks then met bacn up and Littally had the weekend (4days) making up lots! I fell preg
Things have changed and we have been in a good place for a while but only dtd once a day over fertile times and nothing for 5months!

OP posts:
lastbany · 23/10/2020 20:22

@itsafig haha! I understand my eldest is 17 so we have to be careful also! My partner is up at 5 in a morning so usually gives me a poke in back to wake me! (Literally) I'm lucky my baby sleeps 7/7 then we usually also dtd when we go to bed ' so that's how we fit it in, don't get me wrong sometimes he doesn't want it he works very long hours and sometimes I don't want it! We actually did the 30 days challenge two months ago and on day 8 I got a sex injury! Soooo embarrassing! Had to have a consultation we doctor and w head hit a nerve omg honestly worse thing ever and we weren't doing owt freaky at tht!! 🤣🤣

OP posts:
positivelynegative · 23/10/2020 20:27

Nope 6 pregnancies Grin

lastbany · 23/10/2020 20:29

@positivelynegative oooo ok just wondered why consultant would be advising on conceiving , esp of you had 6 I think you know what doing 🤣🤣

OP posts:
itsafig · 23/10/2020 20:30

What's the 30day challenge? If it's what it sounds like, it sounds very very tiring

nearlynermal · 23/10/2020 20:33

This has got to be a wind up.

MiniCooperLover · 23/10/2020 20:35

I agree or in incredibly bad taste for all those who can't conceive or struggle to

lastbany · 23/10/2020 20:37

@itsafig yep tiring! Haha it's just sex in a different way every day for 30 days nothing crazy just like sex in the kitchen, sex with lights on etc all "normalise" but basically sex for the whole month!

OP posts:
Rachel93x · 23/10/2020 20:37

Doctor told us every other day, sperm lives for 5 days and the sperm quantity isn't so good if it's every day? 🤷🏼‍♀️ good luck!

lastbany · 23/10/2020 20:38

@nearlynermal er no why would it be? And if you wanna be a bitch please move on, trying to keep things light hearted!

OP posts:
lastbany · 23/10/2020 20:39

@MiniCooperLover please tell me why it's in bad taste?? And how is it? It's a genuine question! I have been very very lucky to conceive so don't know as much as some do about it!

OP posts:
lastbany · 23/10/2020 20:40

@Rachel93x ye when I mentioned to doctor during a consultation for something else he told me not to worry about having sex while ovulating and not to even track it just to have sex when possible and it will happen personally I feel that was bad advice 😳

OP posts:
Rachel93x · 23/10/2020 20:45

I guess maybe they advise that because stressing about it can cause more issues and just go with the flow? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I stress myself out with these damn ovulation sticks 🤦🏼‍♀️ although I do make my partner DTD every other day during the month but then everyday during the fertile week - I say 'make' but he's always keen! CP last month and now onto month 3! Fingers crossed it happens soon for you x

lastbany · 23/10/2020 20:48

@Rachel93x thanks! And you too :) I agree the sticks last month drove me mad! That's why I just thought dtd as much as possible x

OP posts:
positivelynegative · 23/10/2020 20:49

We called it the 30 day shred. Every day day 1 onward. Works a treat.

Lou98 · 23/10/2020 20:59

As PPs have said, I believe that the advice most healthcare professionals give is every 2nd day because even though every time he 'cums' there is semen, the sperm count is lower the less time you leave in between and so it's not having a chance to essentially "regenerate" if that makes sense? I've probably not explained it the best but generally that's why. Sperm can live in the body for up to 5 days.

5 months really isn't that long, even for completely healthy couples with no issues, 1 year is the average for conceiving. It was great that it happened so quickly with your last pregnancy and so it's understandable you may be worried that it hasn't happened as quick but it's still within normal time frames.

I think you're right to ditch the OPKs and just have regular sex as it can become very stressful over analysing tests etc!

Fingers crossed you get your BFP soon!🤞

Lou98 · 23/10/2020 21:01

Also, this worked for me but may not everyone, I fell pregnant in Feb after deciding that month to start taking the MyOva Inositol tablets and using the conceive plus lube. Unfortunately this pregnancy ended in MC and so I stopped taking them and using the lube and we tried again for another 6 months with no luck so I decided to start using them both again and fell pregnant again that month and currently 9 weeks!

I can't say for sure obviously which one it was or that it wasn't just coincidence but seems likely they helped when the only 2 months that I used them (out of 2 years TTC) were the months I fell pregnant!
