When to test?? Am I too early...

Hi all!
I'm TTC with my partner.
I am 2 days late from my period, which I get very regularly. 28/29 day cycle and a 4 day period.
I had a little spotting Saturday which was my day due on. But nothing since... What do we think? Too early to test?
I keep having almost like a pulling feeling similar to period pains but don't want to get my hopes up too early!
Thoughts please?? X

You can test from before your missed period. I wait until a week after the missed period to test but the only way you'll know if your pregnant is by doing the test.

Hi @JLIS I have always got my bfps on the day of my missed period. It is def possible to get A BFP... but also possible hcg levels not high enough.

My period is very regular too so if my period hasn’t arrived it’s a pretty strong sign for me so I’m feel That I’m not jumping the gun and happy to test.

I’d say test...but depends on how you feel about it really. I understand the fear of bfn too.

Thank you, I just worry that my spotting may be classed as a period! Even though I don't feel that it was as was nothing compared to normal!

So hard to know - obvs people might think "just take the test" but don't want to be disappointed! X

I totally get you on the testing. There’s nothing worse than that sinking feeling when you get a negative....and then you may still be wondering until AF arrives, just in case.

I don’t want to get your hopes up either, but could the spotting be implantation bleeding?

MotherPiglet · 20/10/2020 19:55

The disappointment is why I wait a week after the missed period. I've always been super regular with periods but for some reason in the past year its varied by a few days occasionally. I'm 6 weeks pregnant now, I knew anyway because of nausea and other symptoms but a test confirmed it a week after the missed period.

JLIS · 20/10/2020 21:40

Well I did wonder if implantation bleeding but seemed a bit late to be that if it's my date for AF to arrive?!

Yes that's my thoughts but then the wait is killing me more as everytime I have a wee I'm looking for more!!
Congratulations to you!!! How exciting!!

I mean I have other symptoms like sore breasts and feel a little nauseous but then I think... Am I wanting to see these symptoms so are they in my head a little!!

Eek yes I know it’s so easy to overthink the symptoms I’ve titallly convinced myself many times I’m PG. I’ve never had implantation bleeding, but it’s supposed to be around the time of your period, which is why it can be confusing.

Time will tell! Let us know how you get on

MotherPiglet · 20/10/2020 22:21

It could so easily be implantation bleeding! Fingers crossed, test and let us know :-)

Thank you for the congrats!

Bouncytree · 20/10/2020 22:25

How exciting @MotherPiglet you must be delighted ☺️

Hey, I just had the exact same thing happen although I was due Sunday, had some spotting and was convinced it was start of period. Then nothing! I took 2 tests today, both are positive! So I say go for it.

Jsh125 · 21/10/2020 12:01

@JLIS I had some bleeding the same time I would have expected my period but it stopped and wasn't a usual period at all. It prompted my to take a test which was a faint (but clearly visible) positive and that little line is now a beautiful one year old. In my experience it's definitely possible to have some bleeding at the time of your period and still be pregnant.

Fingers crossed you get the outcome you want Smile

Bouncytree · 23/10/2020 22:10

How did you get on @JLIS? Hope your doing ok

JLIS · 23/10/2020 23:25

Thank you for checking in. AF showed her nasty face unfortunately!!! Better luck next time!
