Hello all,
Just wondering, if this is a common problem as it seems to pop up on MN quite a lot? Did people conceive #1 easily and then have trouble with #2?

I'm trying to conceive no 2 at the moment. Although, I've got pregnant very easily, I've miscarried twice. My first child was conceived in two months and I had a very easy pregnancy. I think I just expected to be just as easy the second time but the last few months has been a bit of a reality check for me. How about you?

Got pg first month of trying with DS, now he's 7.5mo and won't give up the boob, so struggling from point of view that periods not returned. when i start ov again, am hoping it won't take too long, but I do keep reading on here that it's totally random as to how long it takes 2nd time. i did a search on this, think there are a couple of threads in the archive where mums say how long it took 2nd or 3rd time incase you haven't seen them.

Got pg first try with first, was my sixth month with this pregnancy, and I was getting quite stressed, thought if it didn't happen straight away like the first time then it meant it would never happen.

I took evening primrose oil on the recommendation of a MNetter and first month I did that (first half of cycle only) I notice drastic improvement in fertility signs and it seemed to work! None of the other things I did previous months (very health eating, 8+ fruit and veg day, folic acid, avoiding caffeine, giving up alcohol, grapefruit juice etc) seemed to have such a huge effect. I'm sure my hormones are different after having DS, and the EPO gave them a boost (how scientific of me!).

Three RL friends also took longer and/or had miscarriages with their second, despite falling pg easily with their first.

There was a thread recently about this, I found it reassuring when I was feeling despondent. Good luck trying.

Thanks everyone, will have a search for those other threads, I'm new to this! We are planning to try in New Year but I've become a little anxious after learning that people found it more difficult to conceive 2nd time round. Not sure what to do now.
