Hello wise mumsnet TTCers!
I ovulated Sep 17th and we had DTD on the 15th+18th.
I got my period on the 4th+5th (usually only 2 days since coming on pill followed by about 5 days of random spotting). On the 6th+7th I had spotting and then it went back into a full bleed on the 8th! I then bled right through until 13th! I have no idea what the blood was like for the most part as I used tampons thinking it was an extended period, but I did see some that was bright bright red.
I was expecting to ovulate again in the 13th so, despite still having a light bleed (hardly but still there) I tested for ovulation and got a peak straight away! I read that it's not possible to bleed and ovulate and that's a sign of pregnancy so I thought I'd better do a HPT to set my mind at rest and it was positive!
I did a test right before my period started and it was bfn. That's what's blowing my mind a bit I think.
The tests have all been faint but defintely there. I don't think they have gotten stronger but they haven't gotten fainter either.
I've tested right through from 13th until today and had faint BFP's each day (on multiple brands, with fmu and one in afternoon).
I'm going to call the doctors on Monday anyway but really wanted some other opinions to think about. My brain is hopping between hopeful and realistic :/

A bit of backstory.... I have had 2 miscarriages this year (We started TTC in Nov last year after I cam off the pill).
The first miscarriage was super painful but more like a checmical pregnancy it was so early on. That was in March.
The second was at the end of August and I was about 5 weeks. Still pretty early. No pain whatsoever with that one.
I got BFN's pretty much as soon as the bleeding started.

Anyone got any ideas or success stories?

Multiples? I bled when expecting twins.

Oh I hope so! That would be a wonderful outcome. Thanks for replying Smile

Hi @HopefulTTCer , really sorry to hear about your two miscarriages in the one year, they must have been heartbreaking.

Just wanted to get in touch because I'm currently going through quite a similar experience. Having finished what seemed like a normal AF, I was gearing up for ovulation and got a blazing positive earlier in my cycle than expected. Took a pregnancy test on Monday and it was faint positive but definitely not a squinter. Took another on Wednesday and it hadn't got any darker but was still positive.
Spoke to my GP who explained that a positive is a positive and wasn't remotely worried about the faint lines and non progression. Ordered more tests which have just arrived this evening, however, I have now started having brown spotting and mild cramping so I am now expecting the worst for mine. I've never had a miscarriage as this was my first positive test so just assuming that this may be the start.
My GP said to get in touch if I do experience bleeding or pain so plan to ring them in the morning (seems they open on Sundays too!) obviously bleeding can also be a sign of ectopic, and especially with my unusual start, I am particularly wary of this, although not in great pain at the moment so hopefully isn't that. There was a mumsnetter recently who sadly had one with a very similar back story so I am keeping an extra eye out for symptoms!

Throughout the week I have done A LOT of research on late and faint BFP, BFP after AF, no line progression and it does happen, and lots of ladies seem to go on to have healthy pregnancies so although I suspect mine might be over, there is every chance yours won't be! Definitely speak to your GP.

Wishing you the best of luck Thanks

Anything can happen I guess. Time (and a doctor) is the only thing that can bring answers but the wait is so hard!
Fingers crossed for us both. Keep me posted Smile

Just to follow up incase anyone is keeping an eye on this thread...
I spoke to my doctor this morning and he asked for my bloods to be taken to check for pregnancy and thyroid issues, etc. There was 4 or 5 blood vials so he's checking for a lot of stuff I guess!
I was pretty convinced I had lost the little bean this morning as the latest test I took had a second line but it was barely there.
Anyway, I've just had a call from the surgery now saying they have got some of the bloods back and they are as expected so they want to do another blood draw on Thursday. Should I presume that means even my blood says I'm pregnant and he maybe wants to check again in a couple of days to see if hcg is dropping or rising?? I'm not sure at this point. So confused!

@HopefulTTCer congrats!🥰

Yeah to me that sounds as if you're blood test has came back positive for pregnancy and everything else they've tested is normal. They'll want to do another on Thursday to make sure you're HCG is doubling as it should be

HopefulTTCer · 19/10/2020 16:08

Thanks @Lou98 Smile

I called up to ask what my HCG was at and was told 9.4 so I think they're just rechecking to see it's a complete miscarriage to be honest. I don't think it's possible for it to be that low otherwise. :(
