Implantation bleeding

So, AF is due tomorrow, however I have been getting light spotting for 2.5 days - a pink/brown colour that is only there when I wipe. My period is normally really heavy by day 3 so I don't think it is. Did a pregnancy test today and negative ? How long do you wait until testing if it is implantation?

Based on your description I think it might be a breakthrough bleed prior to your period rather than implantation bleeding. I would expect your period to be in full flow by tomorrow.

Do you know roughly when you ovulated? Most people who go on to get a BFP normally get it by 12DPO.

Hi. Perhaps - although my periods are always regular and I've never had brown / pink spotting in my cycle but guess that could change any time. I ovulated on 5th Oct roughly.

If you are correct and you ovulated on 5th Oct then, unfortunately, I definitely feel it's more likely to be breakthrough bleeding than it is to be implantation bleeding.

I had an implantation bleed with my eldest. It lasted a day (I assumed it was AF) but then nothing second day so I tested morning of third day. Fingers crossed for you.

I had implantation bleeding the day my period was due to start. I just presumed it was my period & thought no more of it. It was only went it stopped the next day that I thought to test. There was a feint (but definitely visible) positive. Had more bleeding a few days later so assumed a miscarriage but again it stopped & the little line is now a perfect 1 year old .

I must have ovulated late I assume, I wasn't tracking or anything.

Equally since having kids I now get a couple of days spotting each month before period arrives which I never used to so entirely possible it's the start of your period too.

@caimiep have you recently started taking any new supplements? I had spotting last cycle which was different from my usual cycles part of me knew it could be start of AF but I also partially convinced myself it could be implantation bleeding. Turned out to be AF. I had started taking new supplements which could've caused a bit of change in the cycle.

Hey, sorry I can’t figure out how to post but I was just hoping for some advice. I’ve been tracking ovulation for a while now and I never get a positive result however I did have signs of ovulation around the 22nd of January.

I had brown spotting for 4 days, completely brown and light and I’ve never had this before. Not sure when my period is due because they are all over the place since I came off the pill.

We have been TTC for over a year now, I also have lower back pain, dull cramps, headaches, I’m nauseous and dizzy. But today I had a BFN and according to my app I should have had my period 2 days ago however it’s never accurate.

Has anyone else has this and got a BFP? or can anyone advise me when it would be best to test again after what I think might have been an implantation bleeding? Sorry this post is long I’m just desperate for some help and advice.

I am currently about 6 weeks pregnant and I had a what I think was an implantation bleed- came around the time my period was due, so assumed it was my period but it was hardly anything just a bit on the tissue and never got any heavier. When my boobs were still killing 3 days later I did a test and here we are!

@Worry23 when you say you’ve been tracking ovulation, have you been using OPKs and temping? OPKs will show you when your body is getting ready to ovulate but not that you have ovulated - you need to confirm with the temp shift. I think luteal phases are 17 days max and pretty much everyone should have a BFP by 18 dpo. It could be that you actually ovulated later than you thought? I have found my AF symptoms and pregnancy symptoms to be identical, which just seems v unhelpful from Mother Nature! Good luck.

I’ve just been tracking it with ovulation tests, I’m pretty new to this as I’ve never been TTC before. I think I’m 15DPO but my have been later.

I just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced what I’m currently experiencing as I’m not sure what to do.

Hi @Worry23! I had that with my last pregnancy. Definitely test when the period is due. Hope you get your BFP!

@Worry23 thank you! No I don’t think I had any symptoms! I usually get sore boobs before AF anyway, felt a bit twingy and generally just how I do before my period. I was so shocked when I got a BFP. I think you should test as I was just putting it off waiting for my period to arrive and it never did!

I’m just not sure when my period is actually due because everything is so irregular 🙈🙈 and I’m not sure how many days after implantation bleeding it would show me an accurate result. @AnnaliseH thanks for replying! Your giving me a little bit of hope!! 🙈🙈

I had a implantation bleed similar to this with my second. It fizzled out after 3 days and I thought I'd just had a weird period due to stress - but that "odd cycle" will be four months old this week :)

First post on here, hello everyone! Second month ttc and I've had 4 days of spotting now. It's brown and no red or pink. AF is due on 9th so pretty early for spotting.. Took a test on Friday and got a negative but I'm not sure whether to test again or just wait a few more days? I started taking Wellwoman supplements but only about a week ago. Not sure if that could be the cause? I have no idea what to expect!

@ScarletG from what I’ve read online implantation bleeding happens before your period is due and it’s best to test on the first day of your missed period. I took a FRER also and it was negative. Hope you get your BFP! Keep us posted :)
