Hi all! I’m looking for advice/previous experiences! A job opportunity has come up in work that I have been working towards for the last 2 years. The posts do not come up very often, although a similar job post was out around 6 months ago however I was unsuccessful. The current job post is a 12 month secondment to cover maternity leave. My predicament is that we want to TTC next year, and currently those pregnant are moved to non-patient facing roles from 28weeks of pregnancy within the NHS. Do I still apply for the job or not?! We could take the whole year to fall pregnant so timings would work out ok, but what if I fell pregnant straight away? I’d like to hear people’s thoughts? We did have a MMC this year and TTC for a further 6 months with no luck if that changes anything. Thanks

I would apply for the job, that way you can't lose, if you get pregnant straight away then you'll have a baby to look forward to, if it takes longer, at least you'll have the job you wanted. If you don't apply, then you won't get the role and you might not get a baby either. Hope that helps 🙂 x
