Bit worried and looking for some advise please.
I am on the progestrogen only pill but missed one accidently last thursday, had sex thur night. Yesterday i had some pinkish bleeding after sex, UTI type symptoms this morning and now lots of cramps, and feeling dizzy. I dont ususally have periods so no idea around timings. I took a pregnacy test today and its negative but could it be too early to tell? Can anyone offer any advice? Please

If you don’t normally have periods, I wouldn’t have thought you would become pregnant that easy. Leave it a few days a take another test and take it from there.

This happened with me a few years back. Phoned the family planning clinic who said not to worry too much because of how progesterone only pills work (creating a hostile environment). Which pill are you on? And did you continue taking your pill as normal the following days? As other poster said, leave a week and retest. Still very early days to test and regarding your symptoms... it's amazing what your brain can make you feel! Try not to worry too much. Hope you get the answer you're hoping for

Also... your symptoms could just be that your hormones have had their little blip from missing your pill!

Thanks I carried on taking the rest of the pill yes but missed that one . The pill is called desogestrel. Thanks for your advice x

Okay! You have a twelve hour window with that pill so although you were late, you weren't days late... if that makes sense! Hope your symptoms have subsided and you get the result you are hoping for x

@BrownF89 es thanks still having stomach aches and feeling sick. Guess I need to just wait a few more days to see for sure .

@Beth290fox - do you have have any form of bleeding with your pill? Although I shouldn't have I still bled regularly every month so was able to know roughly when I was due and therefore late!
Google says take the test at least ten days after sex if you don't know when your cycle is so you could test pretty much now.
I've been told to get the early response first response tests so grab one of those over the next couple of days and test with your first urine of the day.
Keep us posted x

Thanks I tested this morning with a cheapo one step one but it was negative. No I don't get any bleeding or any symptoms of anything with my pill this is why I'm so convinced because it's really out of the ordinary for me to get stomach cramps. All seems too much of a coincidence! I've got a better pregnancy test that I'm going to wait to take untill it's been 2 weeks. Will keep you updated, I've only been with my boyfriend 2 months , so not the most ideal time x

@Beth290fox - okay! Try not to worry (easier said than done I know!)
Google has just brought this up... if you miss pills or take them late, hormone levels may change and trigger breakthrough bleeding and mild cramping.
I'm sure all of this is just because you missed your pill!
Keeping everything crossed for you x

Beth290fox · 19/10/2020 15:30

Great thanks. Hopefully it's just that x
