Tracking method

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well!

Just opening up a conversation as my partner and I are in our first month ttc and took the approach this month of trying not to stress too much and seeing what happens, but being aware of my likely ovulation using apps like Ovia to track symptoms, CM etc. I only came off the pill mid September so I guessed no point doing too much tracking as my hormones are likely to be all over the place!

My question is, going into our second month ttc off the pill (assuming we are not successful) which tracking method people think works best for them? BBT or Ovulation strips, both, or just a more relaxed approach and dtd regularly.

It’s a balancing act of a not wanting to get too obsessive over it, but also wanting to know when you have the best chance (with a pinch of impatience thrown in!)

Thanks :)

We used ovulation strips and DTD as they were approaching becoming dark, and in the two days following. Worked first time for us.

@Tryingandhoping2020 I’m in exactly the same position as you! First cycle of ttc and first off the pill. I haven’t tracked anything this cycle as also wanted to take the laid back approach and just dtd a lot haha! I’m now about 8dpo if I did ovulate when my apps predicted I would. Have you had any symptoms this cycle? I’ve had sore nipples the last 2 says, excess saliva all the time and seem like I’m weeing a lot more. Not sure if I’m thinking too much into it though 🙈o

@Purpleflowers21 snap! Have also had sore nipples the last few days, lots of weeing and bloating! According to apps I’m around 10 dpo. I caved and did a test this morning and it was negative ☹️ banning myself from testing for a week now!

@Tryingandhoping2020 hmm hopefully it’s just too early for your positive! I’m trying to hold out as long s as I can before testing
