Sorry if it’s long and May be TMI..
Basically Me and my partner are trying to conceive.
Basically I don’t know anything at all about my cycle due to having the implant in and I’ve had it in for the past 10 years. I had this taken out on the 6th October and had a period from the 8th to the 11th October. We had unprotected sex on the 12th. Yesterday and today I have cramps that are uncomfortable not painful and they come and go, I have also been nauseous and I checked my cervix for the first time and that seemed soft to me and appeared open. My discharge is also very wet and a bit creamy (I’m sorry!) Basically do you think I’m ovulating or possibly it’s implantation? Or is it too soon for that to happen?
Thank you for reading and taking your time to reply with any help at all. I appreciate it 💕

Hi Gablou
I recently had my implant out also and the symptoms you are describing are just your hormones readjusting. The ‘period’ you had from the 8th to the 11th is likely a withdrawal bleed from the rapid fall in progesterone after removal. Around 90% of women will ovulate within 4 weeks after removal, but you are very unlikely to ovulate within the first 6 days after removal, so expect your first ovulation somewhere between now and the 3rd of November. You can conceive right from that first ovulation, but if you don’t catch it, you will then get your AF around 2 weeks later and your cycles should go fairly normally from there. If you want to know when you are ovulating, get some OPK sticks.

Hey lovely,

Like above post says it's likely to be too early, But I'd totally recommend the easy@home ovulation sticks on amazon and just test twice a day.

Once you see the test line become darker than the control getting, I test 3 times a day that week! Once the test line is darker then the control line, you're due to ovulate within 12/24/36/48 hours so keep doing to dead and testing so you can see the lines become faint again and then you know you've ovulated!

Then the dreaded 2 week wait happens and if your period doesn't arrive 14 days after to test - or like me, become a pee on a stick addict and start from 9DPO - I wouldn't recommend that as it can be so stressful and picks up chemical pregnancys! I use those and the Premom app as you can upload photos of the sticks and see the progression! Sorry for long post and hope it makes sense!

Best of luck to you xx

Hey! Thank you to you both for your replies! I will invest in some ovulation sticks and just go from there

Hi @gablou Smile

Like you, I had implant in for many years and had it taken out at end of August. I could already feel AF brewing before I got it taken out and it came 2 days later but definitely felt more like a pre-implant AF. The midwife who took it out told me you can technically get pregnant from the day of getting it taken out. I also read that creamy discharge is a sign of ovulation - so perhaps you are despite it being so soon?

Pollyell · 14/10/2020 20:59

Also I used to work with someone who got her implant out and got pregnant VERY soon after, didn't even get AF!

Gablou · 15/10/2020 08:31

@Pollyell thank you for you’re reply! Yeah I got told when getting it out that I may get pregnant straight away. I’m trying to let things go with the flow but I just feel weird and I can’t put my finger on why or what it is. I think we’re going to keep an eye on my symptoms, and do a test at the end of the month I think and just keep doing what we’re doing now. I think that’s the best route to take

When I stopped taking the pill I had all sorts of weird symptoms which made me think I could be pregnant when I wasn't! I guess it was the fluctuation of hormones.

You could try using OPKs and temping so you are more aware of what's going on in your body and for peace of mind, otherwise it can be annoying trying to guess exactly when/what is happening! I feel like I'm more in tune with everything going on in there now even tho I'm in the TWW symptom spotting like mad haha Grin

I don't think creamy discharge is ovulation related. It often goes creamy after ovulation. Before/ during, it should be egg white.

@Samjane93 thank you. I think I’m just going to go with the flow and whatever my body does. I’ll do a test at the end of the month and if I am then that’s great. If it’s negative then I will continue tracking my periods on my app and we will carry on TTC

@Waiting4another @Samjane93 @kirinm @TTCbabyx @Pollyell so just a little update and I’ve attached a picture of the time frame too, tonight when I’ve been to the toilet and wiped, there was discharge with an egg white consistency! I’m hoping I’m successful! When do you think would be the right time to test? End of the month? Middle of next month? Sorry for the questions. But I appreciate your help and advice and replies xxx

Test around 14 days after ovulation. So suggest testing at the end of the month and if you get a BFN and no AF test again every week or every fortnight after that.
I am currently 46 days after removal with no sign of any ovulation or AF, so doing a test weekly just in case...

Gablou · 17/10/2020 11:39

@Waiting4another thank you. I shall test at the end of the month and go from there. Thank you ever so much for your help xxx
