Spotting for 4 days?!

Trying hard not to symptom spot but I started lightly spotting on Saturday evening and thought it was the beginning of AF. By now I'd usually be heavy and I'm still really light! Yesterday I felt incredibly tired out of the blue but then couldn't sleep. Have had sore heavy boobs since last Wednesday (I do usually have sore boobs before and during AF)

I have no idea if this is spotting or just a light period, I've never experienced either before.

Could this be the month?
Anyone else ready to test in the next few days and having symptoms?

Sounds familiar to me! Started spotting on Tuesday, expected period on Friday but still nothing like normal. Got a negative test on Sunday but I'm still holding out hope 🤦‍♀️

Fingers crossed for you!

It's strange isn't it, just been looking back through my tracking app and I usually go from spotting to heavy AF within 3 days. This is different to anything I've had before but I'm convinced it will come to nothing.

Think I've had my hopes up too many times Sad

Fingers crossed for you, it's not over yet!!

I had a similar AF as about 4 days long with only on day that was like a normal period, two BFNs it seems to have stopped completly now so just putting it down to a dodgy AF and see what happens next time

So confusing though!

Originalusername6432762 · 13/10/2020 13:01

Pretty sure period is on its way today, but I'm kind of relieved as the stress of thinking there's a tiny possibility is doing my head in!

SMurphy91 · 13/10/2020 14:04

chinchilly are you sure it's not worth testing again in a few days time? I've been looking it up today and loads now conflicting info on when to test, maybe it was too soon?

originalusername I know what you mean, it is super stressful and then stress can actually make false symptoms worse/prevent AF! Why can't this be straight forward?!?!?!

I’m not sure @SMurphy91 the second day of AF was what I would call a normal flow, including some clots (sorry TMI)

I have been feeling really nauseous but it started when I started taking folic acid (only recently) and it is one of the side effects, my BFN’s were stark white, not even a hint of a line so I’m not sure whether I should test again? It would of been 13dpo when the spotting started which is probably too late for implantation?

It’s really difficult because I was convinced last cycle was the one, feeling nauseous, tired, hot flushes, sore boobs, headaches..the lot!

SMurphy91 · 13/10/2020 14:14

chinchilly maybe a little too late. It's like our bodies know what we're doing and is playing little tricks on us to get our hopes up Hmm

@SMurphy91 I think it was just a dodgy AF! Our bodies definitely like to play tricks on us! I always thought when I was younger it was super easy to get pregnant now I’m realising that it really isn’t that simple!

Originalusername6432762 · 13/10/2020 14:21

I think maybe doing too many tests and things is bad for my anxiety, getting my hopes up etc!

ChinChilly · 13/10/2020 14:26

I agree @Originalusername6432762 I am going to TRY and not test this time until AF is late, i think we put too much pressure on ourselves with all the testing and tracking

SMurphy91 · 14/10/2020 14:08

I did a test and its a BFN Sad
Still spotting, still got sore boobs and would like to add splitting headache and feeling fed up to the list of mystery symptoms

My last cycle was exactly the same @SMurphy91 I was so convinced I was pregnant!

SMurphy91 · 14/10/2020 17:28

chinchilly I just don't get it! I have a very irregular cycle (anything from 30-70 day cycles. But never ever have light bleeding between cycles and always have the same routine with AF (7 days with 2-very heavy days in the middle). If I'm not pregnant something is still off Confused

OP posts:
ChinChilly · 14/10/2020 18:19

@SMurphy91 mine are regular so far 29/30 days and as you said pretty much the same routine 2 heavy days then 3 light days! My last AF was light the first days then 1 days of normal flow, wouldnt even say heavy, then 2 days of spotting, really odd! I had 2 BFN’s though so I’m just putting it down to a blip and will see what next cycle is like.

I was convinced I was pregnant so was abit shocked when I got 2 BFN

SMurphy91 · 16/10/2020 08:51

Things took a bit of a turn yesterday. Took another test which showed a very faint BFP (though I might be imagining it but DH could see it too). Then started getting awful cramps out of nowhere and AF if definitely here SadSadSad

So now I can't trust my own body or pregnancy tests to tell me whats going on Hmm

OP posts:
ChinChilly · 16/10/2020 10:21

@SMurphy91 sounds like you may have had a chemical pregnancy Sad

SMurphy91 · 16/10/2020 10:26

chinchilly I think that might be what's happened. I tried not to get too excited at the BFP but felt so crushed when AF came. Hopefully can be more relaxed about it until I'm sure next time

ChinChilly · 16/10/2020 10:28

I can imagine, those 2 lines give you so much hope....I might be wrong but I think you are extra fertile after a chemical so fingers crossed for your next cycle.

SMurphy91 · 16/10/2020 10:41

chinchilly I didn't know that! Well be googling it all day now haha

Fingers crossed that's right and I'm sure DH will be happy to have another month of trying

@SMurphy91 Definitely look it up because I could be wrong but I am sure I had read it somewhere.
