I'm on the implant. I took this test yesterday morning as I've been having pregnancy symptoms. This to me is a positive result. I rang doctor yesterday to tell them on out of hours service they were shocked I've caught on my implant. I've had spotting- which I'm guessing is implantation bleeding. But I need more opinions. I'm going to go get another test today clear blue one for tomorrow morning. It would be my second baby with a new partner who I've only been seeing for 2 months. I am not scared as such just a bit shocked. Our bodies are amazing eh!

I can see the line on your test but I would definitely be testing again with a FRER or CB test.

What test did you use? It’s hard to tell if it has colour and some are notorious for evap lines.

Rainbowsandstars22 · 11/10/2020 09:06

I used poundland first vue

What's a FRER test? CB I'm guessing is clearblue

First Response Early Response test. If you try to get one, make sure you don’t pick up the Rapid Response ones. They look almost identical but aren’t as sensitive. They just show your result quickly rather than earlier.

CovidStoleTheRainbow · 11/10/2020 09:28

I would get a digital test.

That's not the clearest of results, and not all tests can be trusted.

WB205020 · 11/10/2020 09:37

Get a clear blue digital test. It will say how early / far along you are too. No offence but I wouldn’t trust a Poundland pregnancy test. The clear blue ones are around £10. No cheap I know but they are very accurate and tell you in no uncertain terms so there is not question marks over whether a line is visible or not. Good luck.

ColonSemiColon · 11/10/2020 09:38

That test is flooded, so any answer it gives is inaccurate. There’s a line, but you need another test.

Rainbowsandstars22 · 11/10/2020 09:40

Okay thank you for the recommendations and responses will go get a different brand of test today. Poundland ones are just as reliable from reviews I've read online

I’m surly but second baby in 2 months? You need to double or triple up on protection x

Frdd · 11/10/2020 09:42

*sorry

I took that to mean that to mean it’s her second child but she’s only been with the new partner (not the father of baby number 1) for two months.
Frdd · 11/10/2020 09:49

Ah. I read it as it was written - second baby with a new partner. If you see what I mean.

Rainbowsandstars22 · 11/10/2020 09:50

Haha no thanks my daughter is 4! And I've been separated from her Dad since he walked out when she was 1. I'm a single working Mum but have been seeing a new man for 2 months. :)

Interested to see what second test says. Glad you're happy either way. Have you told BF yet?

FatGirlShrinking · 11/10/2020 09:58

Definitely do another test, just because there is a line but it could be a grey evap line as there isn't much colour to it, although that could just be the lighting in the picture.

If another test shows a positive then if you choose you want to keep the pregnancy I would get the implant removed ASAP. I don't know the medicine behind it but the implant is designed to change your hormone levels and hormone levels are important to a developing pregnancy.

The doctors will also need the batch number of your implant to report to the manufacturers in case it's a dodgy batch.

Rainbowsandstars22 · 11/10/2020 10:04

No I havent told my boyfriend yet I've sent the photo of the test to my mum, sister and a few friends for their opinion because I feel like I'm going a bit bonkers. Yes I spoke to out of hours doctor yesterday and he told me to test again but I'm waiting until tomorrow morning and if I am then docs will take a blood test to confirm the pregnancy and they will remove the implant. It's not the end of the world if I am. I'm 28 and I have a good job and am independent and everything. Apart from driving I'm just learning atm. I have good support around me if I am and have raised my daughter by myself 😘 it's just not what I was planning right now haha

@Rainbowsandstars22 if you are a reasonable weight and can feel your implant under your skin the chances of pregnancy are super low... the test looks positive, but I have had lines like that from accidentally drowning the test. Let us all know how you go with another brand/test! How long have you had your implant in for?

Rainbowsandstars22 · 11/10/2020 12:18

Yes I am a reasonable weight. Implants been in for 13 months. Well I've kept the test and everywhere has gone white apart from the pink lines. First one faint second very dark. I've kept it in a plastic food bag you use for sandwiches incase I need to tell my boyfriend 😂😂😂

Waiting4another · 11/10/2020 12:29

Can you still feel your implant easily in your arm?

Rainbowsandstars22 · 11/10/2020 12:31

Yes it feels like its all there

OP posts:
Waiting4another · 11/10/2020 12:39

Amazing @Rainbowsandstars22
Please keep us all updated
What kind of symptoms made you test?
I had the implant for 16+ years and don’t think anything short of a baby kicking would have made me test haha! I have read that the implant is not harmful to pregnancy by the way, so don’t worry too much on that front...

Rainbowsandstars22 · 11/10/2020 16:26

Right I was impatient and I took 3 tests this afternoon. 1 digital which said negative and the other 2 on freedom cheaply strips- one was invalid and other negative. I know I should have waited till the morning 😂 it's all I can think about atm I feel so confused. Because that for sure was a positive result yesterday. I'm talking to doctor tomorrow and see what they say xx
