Am I even ovulating? Ttc after mirena

Hi guys, I got my mirena coil out on the 16th July and had a withdrawal bleed a few days afterwards. My period started on day 23 of that cycle, with no real signs of ovulation really. The cycle after that was 42 days long!! I’m now on day 22 of the next cycle and while I’ve had some decent lines on opks they aren’t quite as dark as the control and I’ve only had the smallest amount of ewcm to the point I don’t even know if it counts. Has anyone else had this problem who can reassure me? Feeling pretty down and don’t want to bother a doctor so soon if this is super normal Confused.

I’m ttc number 1 so maybe I’m overthinking everything. It’s just from the way people go on ttc is supposed to be so easy lol!

Hi @Gep2831 I track my BBT so I pretty sure I know that i'm ovulating. But if I didn't do this then I would be in the same boat as you - I hardly ever get a positive OPK (I miss them every month!) and my CM is scant. I have only had EWCM this month for the first time. So it is very possible that you are ovulating, but like me you have very short LH surge and little CM.

If you are really concerned that you are not ovulating then you could consider tracking your temperature. You will need to buy a Basel Thermometer from the internet (mine was £15) and you will need to set an alarm to take your temperature the same time every morning (mine is 6am) and I advise you use Fertility Friend mobile app to track. Once you see a significant shift up in temperature for 3+ days you can be happy that you have ovulated.

If it helps, I had my mirena coil removed in June and was in a similar position for a couple of months! I have had some EWCM but I am guessing I must have ovulated as I've had a period each month. I had a post surgery follow up for a surgery I had also in June last week and I asked the gynaecologist about it, he said its very normal for the first 3-4 months for your cycle to be a bit crazy but it should return properly soon. Hope this helps x
