Negative OPK but ovulation pains?

I'm only on CD09 but generally have a 26 day cycle so have been ovulating around CD11/12 (although had a longer cycle last month out of the blue) so I start testing with Clear Blue OPKs around CD08. A very clear negative this morning but I've started having what feels like ovulation cramps on the left hand side.

Do you think that could be me gearing up to ovulate or the OPK is wrong? I don't want to ovulate this early as I know the egg probably won't be mature enough. But can you get ovulation pains several days before ovulation?

OPKs pick up the LH surge which happens prior to ovulation, it also usually happens in the afternoon, so you could be ovulating now on CD9 and get a negative OPK this morning - your OPK may have been positive yesterday afternoon if you had tested then, but hard to know now

Hmmm, well I hope not. That is mega early and I've got no chance of staying pregnant if I'm ovulating then. I didn't have any other signs - creamy CM yesterday for example (sorry).

I will keep testing and hope that what I'm feeling is not ovulation pains!

Negative OPK tonight so hoping I'm still a few days away from ovulation.

@kirinm ovulation pain can occur before and after ovulation, so hopefully you didn't ovulate on CD9. In my last cycle I had ovulation pain from CD14 until CD21, so I wouldn't have been ovulating all week, I'm guessing it happened somewhere in the middle. Has your OPK come up positive yet?

@xWaterfallx thanks, I got a peak this afternoon and EWCM (sorry) so pretty sure I didn't ovulate on CD09 which is a relief.
