Spotting before period!? Help...

Hi all,

Wondering if you can help me. I had my last period on 9th of September 2020, I had unprotected sex on the 22nd of September 2020. On the 3rd of October 2020 up until now (7th October 2020) I have had some light spotting when wiping ranging from pink mucus to light brown/pink spots. My period is due today however there is no sign of AF. I have had BFNs when testing. I thought this could of been implantation however I heard implantation spotting does not last longer than 3 days. Has anyone else had a situation like this?

Hey @ch90 I understand how you feel as I had the exact same situation last month! I 'bled' around the time my period was due but it was incredibly light pink/brown discharge with the tiniest bits of bleeding. I thought omg yay I'm pregnant! 4 BFNs later over the next 3 weeks I found out I wasn't and got my period again very light! I had the mirena coil removed a few months back so not sure if it is that but just wanted to let you know you're not alone.

Hey @Kirky658 thank you for replying! So sorry that you have experienced this as well, it’s so confusing/frustrating isn’t it? I wasn’t on any form of contraception prior so I doubt it’s that but I do have an under active thyroid so could be due to that but then again I’ve never experienced this before!

Hey @ch90 I know it broke my heart at the time but I'm okay with it now. New cycle and new month now let's see what happens 😊 interestingly I have been told by my gynaecologist today (post surgery follow up for endometriosis) that stress can cause spotting and light periods! He's advised me to wait a while and see if it settles. I would give it a week and test again, then you would know for sure. Good luck xx

Hey @ch90 our bodies definitely know how to mess with our heads 😖. The month before I got my BFP I had some spotting A few days before AF which then turned Into AF but the month after (where I got my BFP) I had spotting from about a week before my AF was due for 4 days and then got my BFP on the day of my missed period. (I also tested 8dpo 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ and 11 dpo and got BFN).
Fingers crossed it’s the latter for you!

I had some pinkish discharge before my period very light and only tiny amount that was 2 weeks ago.. still no period and negative tests just an increase of discharge sorry no help just wanted to let you know your not alone,but maybe wait a few days and test again

It’s nice to know I’m not alone experiencing this. I’ve got some stomach and back pains now. I wish my period would just turn up or that I would get a BFP lol. I just hate not knowing! I know you probably all do. I’ve got my fingers crossed for us all!!
