Should I use a digital HPT?!

Well I'm five days late and have tested a few times already, including yesterday and always BFN. Going out for dinner tonight (invited by a friend, late birthday present from her - lots of nice alcohol, cheese etc - bad baby food basically) so just decided to test one more time. If still a no, then probably messed up periods so I could say yes to a glass of champagne.

Ok, very very faint line (CB test) - have read all the posts about a line being a line but have only used First Response before so I'm unused to these tests and am not sure if I'm imagining it. If I see it it's there, right?! (Got a teency bit stronger after 3 minutes or so.)

Anyway is it worth running out and getting a digital test or will it only show Pregnant when there's enough hormone (ie enough for a strong line)?
Thank you x

have your glass of champagne tonight and enjoy it. New government guidelines out today say it is safe to drink a glass of wine a day in pregnancy.here

I once had a very very faint line on a pregnancy test, then my period turned up a couple of hours later so I think I was imagining it.

Wait a couple of days and then test, hope it's a BFP.

Belgo, I saw that article - made me very happy indeed . Wow that you saw a line and then period turned up two hours later! Will keep that in mind and perhaps not splash out a pricey test quite yet. Thank you.

It looks to me like you're probably pregnant.

When I conceived DS1 I had an inkling I was pregnant but didn't do a test on the basis that it was New Year and I wouldn't be able to have a drink

I was so annoyed that I'd wasted money on the test, if only I'd waited another couple of hours.

the digital ones are less sensitive - my last pg it said not whilst the non-digital one was positive (on day period due). I'd wait to first thing tomorow am and do another normal one. see here for the sensitivities so you could get one of the most sensitive if you are desperate to find out! www.peeonastick.com/

oh and dont worry about wine, cheese etc - the placenta wouldnt even be up and running yet so no blood supply to any foetus yet if you were pregnant.

tho obviously i wouldnt get bladdered in case you are - good luck

Thanks so much everyone.

Willmouse - lol about NYE!

Thanks Barbamama, am much calmer now. Didn't want to feign a migraine (again!) or drink nothing at all, sipping at my glass with tightly closed lips, as that is so annoying to anyone with you! Will drink and eat a little of everything then! Yum. And thanks for digital advice, will do a normal one tomorrow and if there's another line then I'll take a digital in a few days. Not sure I could deal with a bare-faced Not Pregnant right now!
