No idea how we managed to smash through 1,000 messages (40% of them are probably me anyway, ha!) in such a short space of time, but a new thread is needed for the post pill TTC party, so here it is...

Tag anyone I've forgotten please, and new party-goers always welcome :)

@TheHotelCalifornia we love Disney too! I’m so sad we aren’t getting to go this year. I’m looking at moving it to next September, but I’m reluctant because who knows what’s going to happen, and also... will we have a baby or will I be pregnant? Grin absolutely loved Boston and Salem! We stayed just outside in a place called Marblehead which was so cute. I had mapped out all the hocus pocus locations so we could visit them all, and then we booked a walking tour around Salem. I love that you got spooky dresses! Sounds like something I would do too Grin

@Cams50 thanks! It does sound pretty good; and healthy too. Not going to lie, I briefly thought it involved putting seeds up somewhere that I’d rather not Blush

@MintGreenLife I feel for you so much, it’s such a vicious cycle with the prenatal isn’t it! I keep doing the exact thing same as you and getting lost in it at all. I’ve been worried that it’s causing me to have long cycles and was going to stop and switch until I realised I (hopefully) ovulated. Now that I’m in the TWW I’ve decided just to keep going with it as I’m sure it’s doing more good by taking it. The only thing I did was swap from pregnacare to seven seas as I think the first one was giving me brain fog!

Sperr · 06/10/2020 09:23

@MintGreenLife that sounds so stressful- hope you’re okay! I find it really strange now that when most people start taking the pill you’re quite young and have no idea what will happen to you in the future.

Personally the pill affects my personality/ moods so much. I’m like a completely different person. It’s like it just brings a cloud of depression and anger for me! My fiancé can’t believe how different I am - I have stopped it before but then there is always the fear of getting pregnant back when we weren’t ready! The worst thing I ever did was get the depo injection- I one hundred percent lost the plot on that and my period didn’t come back for about 7 months and my cycles were about 50-70 days!

I was only taking this pill for 7/8 months so hoping that it hasn’t had a bad effect on me!

lawandgin · 06/10/2020 09:34

@MintGreenLife that does sound a little high for TTC, but try not to worry - it can be solved with a low dose of thyroxine. My mum has an underactive thyroid and I was worried I would too. Unfortunately GPs aren't great with thyroid stuff so you may need to push xx

MintGreenLife · 06/10/2020 09:49

@lawandgin thanks for your reply :) the GP didn't mention anything to me about it at all! Just said everything is normal and I have nothing to worry about. I guess I'll have to call back and query it urgh xx

@PumpkinEverything totally, it's so hard to know what the right thing to do is.

Thanks @Sperr

I feel like having a little cry now, but got to jump on a Skype call with a client in 30 mins!

Wow just catching up on everything

@MintGreenLife I know it is so much easier said than done that I really would try not to worry. Main thing is you know it is something to focus on and watch carefully. So good you've got tested!

@Sperr are you on the waiting game too? I'm now on CD20 and no sign of ovulation. I'm taking pregnacare but only taking it for the first 3 cycles and then going to switch to just vitamin D and folic acid

Anyone feeling exhausted? I think it is the weather but I just want to nap! Im so happy to be working from home when the weather is so rubbish

PumpkinEverything · 06/10/2020 10:30

@AMS19 I am! And so unmotivated too. It’s a struggle when working from home, especially when you’re looking out at how grey and rainy it is. All I want to do is cuddle up on the sofa with a blanket, snacks and a feel good film!

Kay00 · 06/10/2020 10:34

@AMS19 yes, i'm feeling tired, but I think its because I was up at 4:30 with my dog being sick! I'm not too worried about her but will call the vet just in case (3rd day in a row).

@MintGreenLife - I hope your client meeting has gone well - you've got this girl!! Keep in mind - you have successfully ovulated this month and you DTD at all the right times, so even if you do have a small issue with your thyroid it might not matter. And if you don't get pregnant on this cycle then you know what you need to focus on next - tell your doctor you want to try a low dose of thyroxine (or something similar) to help you on your conception journey.

Sperr · 06/10/2020 10:39

@AMS19 I’m on cycle day 29 and no sign of ovulation yet! My LH has been getting higher over the past 2 days so I think it might show up in the next few days. I’m only taking folic acid at the moment - what does pregnacare and vitamin D do?

Moocher90 · 06/10/2020 10:41

So last night was my first ever sign of EWCM since coming off the pill on 24th August.

I have attached my bbt as I wonder what Other people think. My temp today is 36.28 this morning which is relatively low however OPKs are blank.

Any suggestions?

AMS19 · 06/10/2020 10:54

@PumpkinEverything ha me too. My motivation is absolutely zero! Im getting no work done and I really need to 😔

@Kay00 oh no!! Hope she is okay. Good practice for having a baby...

@Sperr a few friends of mine found for them pregnacare helped their cycles get back to normal following the pill. I know a few people on here have found it can make your cycle slightly longer, but all my friends swear by it at the start. Vitamin D is reccomended alongside folic acid, so once im 3 months in I'll just switch to these. Pregnacare has it all is so don't need anything else yet. My OPKs are literally on zero at the moment, no ovulation in sight. And I dont get EWCM, so I think I'll just keep testing once a day until I see something, but not holding out much hope

Moocher90 · 06/10/2020 11:02

My RHR has also gone up from 65 yesterday to 67 today x

Sarahp2308 · 06/10/2020 11:08

@PumpkinEverything @AMS19 I’m glad im not the only one I have zero motivation today, I have literally do noooo work what so ever!

Seriously sympton spotting over here though, my boobs are still killing me, cramps, feels very nauseous and the smell of the pork slow cooking is making me feel sick..11DPO AF due in the next day or so

PumpkinEverything · 06/10/2020 11:08

I wouldn’t be too worried @Sperr mine was the same and I had given up on it ever happening! I’ve attached my chart so you can see mine. It took a while, but seems to have got there eventually!
In regards to pregnacare, my cycles still haven’t settled anyway, and since taking it they’ve been 41 day’s and I’m now currently on cd35 and waiting, so I think I might be one of the ones who got it extended!

MintGreenLife · 06/10/2020 11:13

@AMS19 thank you, I couldn't help but feel really low about it as I never would have suspected I had a thyroid issue and that we may have issues TTC, I mean that's not certain, but the more I look into it the more it seems like it's widely known that anything over 2.5 isn't good.

Thanks @Kay00 that's made me feel a bit better :) That's a good plan - maybe I should just focus on this TWW for now and if no luck start trying to sort out this thyroid situation!

@Moocher90 great news about the EWCM! Now I'm starting to feel like there are clear signs in my BBT of an underachieve thyroid - I get temps as low as 35.75 sometimes, and my average is more like 36.10!

OP posts:
Moocher90 · 06/10/2020 11:19

@MintGreenLife

So happy to see EWCM as not seen it before and it hopefully means ovulation will try to happen and I have nothing else to gauge it by due to not having a period yet.
Hopefully the thyroid nothing to worry about but it’s something to consider. Surely the GP would have said something if there was an issue with your thyroid

MintGreenLife · 06/10/2020 11:24

@Moocher90 fingers crossed. Well it's the difference between what's considered 'normal' in general health, and good for fertility and safe for pregnancy. Apparently anything over 2.5 is bad for fertility, and anything over 3 isn't great for pregnancy and can increase miscarriage risk. The GP wouldn't have said anything as I don't expect they consider this as not fertility specialists, but 3.5 for TTC doesn't seem be be great x

@PumpkinEverything that is such a great OPK build!! Ahh I can't wait until I see that. I dont even get a second line appear 😭😭😭 i know mind is still such early days but I so want to be able to track. I'm just going to keep doing OPKs once a day.

If I'm only doing once a day when would everyone suggest I do them timewise? Afternoon or evening?

PumpkinEverything · 06/10/2020 11:34

@AMS19 hoping that means it’s a successful one! I really thought I was never going to see it. I could see two small peaks that barely got to 0.6 and I thought my body had just given up.
When it once a day I tried to do it at around 5pm as it was the only time I seemed to not be able to drink or pee for 2 hours as it was in between meal times.

Tatty1987 · 06/10/2020 11:34

Hello everyone,

I followed on your other thread but I thought I’d finally introduce myself Smile I’m Natalie and this has been my first month TTC. Meant to be getting married early next year but as our hopes of a normal wedding day are quickly dwindling away we thought we might as well TTC and if we get lucky we will put back the wedding a year!

I’ve been on the pill longer than I want to admit to but at 33 I’ve been on it longer than I’ve been off it. Came off it in June to get my cycle back with a look to TTC after the wedding. I had two months of hardly any period but since I’m lucky I’ve been a fairly regular 26 day cycle.
I’m inpatient so I couldn’t just start TTC without doing anything haha so bought OPKs on Amazon.
Got a massive peak rise on CD15 (last Saturday) and we DTD pretty much most days including and up until Sunday. I’ve not done the BBT checks yet, but 24 hrs after the peak OPK I was cramping, went bloated and also had CM which I thought was different. Now 2 days later my boobs hurt like crazy.... I know OPKs can’t definitely say I’ve ovulated but I took all those signs as positives!

After having a few cycles off the pill now, I can’t believe how the pill takes away all these signs and symptoms. Even at 33 I’m just learning my cycle now! I don’t think I’ll ever go back on it now.

So yeah, hello, that’s me!

PumpkinEverything · 06/10/2020 11:35

@MintGreenLife I definitely think for now it’s a good idea for you to not worry during this TWW and then if this isn’t your month (but I hope it is!) then have a fresh start and maybe get your thyroid check and mention you’re TTC so they can hopefully help out

Kay00 · 06/10/2020 11:36

@ams19 I do one about midday, and if it looks like its getting darker then do a second at 4pm, and if its really dark then i'll do a 3rd about 10pm.

Kay00 · 06/10/2020 11:41

@Tatty1987 Welcome! Sounds positive on the ovulation front - exciting that you are in your first TWW! I am hoping to ovulate in the next few days (fingers crossed) so i'm looking out for my key signals too.

Moocher90 · 06/10/2020 11:43

@PumpkinEverything I think that is great advice for @MintGreenLife at this moment in time. The 2ww is stressful enough x

wishfulthinking93 · 06/10/2020 11:57

I’m now ok CD40 and still no sign of AF 😣 not even sure if I’ve ovulated this cycle as I stopped tracking mid month, expecting AF to show up on CD28 (like my first post withdrawal bleed period) and to start tracking ovulation properly this month. Just hate the not knowing when it’s going to show. Really hard to stay positive

Sperr · 06/10/2020 12:03

@PumpkinEverything oooh mine does look really similar to yours as well! How long is your cycle?

@AMS19 I might grab some vitamin d in town today then!
