Post Pill TTC - Still Partying

No idea how we managed to smash through 1,000 messages (40% of them are probably me anyway, ha!) in such a short space of time, but a new thread is needed for the post pill TTC party, so here it is...

@MintGreenLife oh! I haven't lost any extra hair yet - I hope I don't as my hair is very thin and I don't have a lot to loose

My mum was in her early 20's when she conceived me and my sister, and I don't think she had to 'try' at all. Talking of people accidentally becoming pregnant - my sister got pregnant the 1st time she had sex with her boyfriend!! - she had missed a few pills in her packet!! How?? Its just sods law isn't it haha!

And to top it all off a few months ago she flippantly said something along the lines of 'all the women in our family are super fertile, they just get pregnant the drop of a hat' - yeah. Thanks sis.

@PumpkinEverything I would say it's almost certainly the pill - you can get a surge of androgens that can cause the hair follicle to shrink, but you won't start seeing it falling out for a month or two after stopping, and then it can carry on another few months. I'm lucky as my hair is super super thick, but still, not ideal. Oh I'm the opposite! I'm a terrible over-sharer! Not with stuff about other people, but with my own personal stuff. Things I've even decided I won't share with any one I just blurt out ha!

@Kay00 haha, oh no! People who have caught easily just don't realise how hard it can be for some people I don't think. They probably think we are doing it wrong or something! x

@MintGreenLife @kay00 omg yes I have a friend who can tell me exactly when her daughter was conceived cause they only managed to DTD once (first cycle trying!) and she told me that apparently there are these apps nowadays that tell you when you ovulate so maybe I should download one of those? Jesus. If only she knew about OPKs, BBT etc...

Haha... if only! My mum and sister are both nurses so I feel they should know better really. I can't complain to much yet, i'm only on my 2nd cycle trying and i'm in my late 30's so I can't expect it to just happen... at the drop of a hat (or any other piece of clothing)

@MintGreenLife yeah it took a few months to start, and I think it went on for two months or so! Thankfully it seems a bit more under control at the moment. I was devastated as I’m so funny about my hair and the length and I hate getting it cut I think being an over sharer is definitely a good thing, as you’ll be getting plenty of support! I just don’t want people asking me questions haha. Thankfully we’ve only really had the odd comment about when we’ll have a baby, and I hope it stays that way as I don’t think I could deal with that if it takes us a long time

@Kay00 oh that is so unfair! It’s crazy how that happens to people considering all we know about the time it takes cycles to get back to normal. @Juno231 haha, she probably thinks it’s so easy if it worked so well for her

My mum also keeps saying my family is so fertile. Almost all of us were basically accidents. Sigh.

I also prefer sharing over not sharing but I feel like it makes a lot of people uncomfortable so I try not to for that reason!

So I had two days of EWCM which was yesterday and day before. Couldn’t DTD last night after work because I got off at 4am this morning but had a sleep and temperature has gone up by 0.2 today. My RHR has also gone up. I hope that I ovulated this time. I guess if temperature continues to rise tomorrow and day after then it’s hopefully positive in terms of ovulation. I tested a few times with OPKs but every time I did was blank but was not testing regularly and didn’t hold urine before hand.

We did DTD on sat sun and Tuesday so hopefully if I ovulated I am in with a chance

I feel abit strange in that I have twinges/cramps in my lower abdomen does anyone else experience this during ovulation? Still have it now.

If I have ovulated but not got BFP in 2 weeks time I hope that means at very least I should get a period which will be a god send so at least I can track properly

@Juno231 thank you. I'm CD13 and going by OPK strip I'm tailing out my fertile window for this month as been a 25 day cycle. BD like there's no tomorrow so fingers crossed 🤞🏻. How's things in your world 🌍? I'm back in the office a couple of days a week now and remoting it the other days.

@mrsmacmc yeah not bad! Living in temporary accommodation with BIL in a tiny flat atm until I move into our fixer upper on the 30th which I'm super excited about. Due to aforementioned living space I am actually in the office full time now as it's much nicer! CD6 now and FW starting on Sun so looking forward to that next week :)

Hi Ladies, opinions please! 12 DPO today CD29, BFP yesterday but it was the afternoon and wasn’t a long hold. (TMI bit coming up) last night when I wiped I had a small bit of browny discharge so expected AF to be in full force this morning but nothing at all, Flo says I’m due on today but Premom says Friday! I’m going to try hold off until the weekend to test if AF hasn’t reared her ugly head! TWW is horrendous, arghhh

@PumpkinEverything sounds like your hair situation was definitely pill related then, seeing as we had the exact same! I totally get that, thankfully nobody has asked us yet, but I know they will probably be wondering.

@MintGreenLife I don’t as I’ve only really tracked ovulation for the first time this month, I’m guessing I will need to hang on until the weekend if AF doesn’t turn up! I’ve only got one test left and don’t want to waste it!

Hi everyone! Would you mind if I join? Just came off the pill last week so total TTC newbie. Waiting for first proper period now. Am doing OPKs partly to get used to the process, partly because I'm impatient and want to see if my body is doing anything 🙂 I'm 35, TTC 1st. Been lurking on some threads on a while but it's nice to join in.

@Puffin85 we've spoken in another thread but I'm in exactly the same position as you....waiting for my first proper AF!

My OPKs are still so negative premom keeps giving me an error message when I scan them in. I'm away from tomorrow until Sunday for a spa weekend so I'm just going to stop testing for a few days, because I'm not with my DH so even if they are miraculously positive there is nothing I can do about it which I think will stress me out even more!

I was directed here by another member.

Im a newbie and wanted to hear others experiences if possible please.

I’ve been on the pill for years and came off it last month. I had my breakthrough bleed on 3 September.

I’m now 5 days late going by a 28 day cycle but I know this can vary especially when coming off the pill and I haven’t had a normal period yet.

Last week I had period pains, the ones I normally get when I’m about to come on. But they disappeared and now nothing. My lower abdomen feels slightly sore and I had pains like it was tightening. So I was convinced I was pregnant.

I did a test this morning and it was negative so now I’m clearly just having an odd cycle and will come on my period at some point.

I don’t have any children and so this will be my first although I was pregnant about 8 years ago but m/c. When I was pregnant then I remember getting period pains but nothing happened and eventually I found out I was pregnant.

I just wanted to see what everyone else’s experience of coming off the pill is/was like.

Just reading through the post. How do you know when you are ovulating? I’m fascinated to know as I don’t have a clue lol
