No idea how we managed to smash through 1,000 messages (40% of them are probably me anyway, ha!) in such a short space of time, but a new thread is needed for the post pill TTC party, so here it is...

Tag anyone I've forgotten please, and new party-goers always welcome :)

Sorry to hear AF reared her ugly head @MintGreenLife fingers crossed for a longer LP next time! With you ovulating, It sounds like your body is hopefully starting to figure it’s self out!

ChinChilly · 14/10/2020 09:51

Ignore my PP then @MintGreenLife it’s good that you’ve found the potention cause of the LP that is normally half the battle!

Kay00 · 14/10/2020 10:05

@MintGreenLife sorry to hear AF has arrived :( Treat yourself to some chocolate, a big mug of tea and a glass of wine (or two) tonight... it is Wednesday after all!

I took 100mg B6 and 500ug of B12 (part of a complex... apparently the complex is better than just B6 or B12 on its own) which I feel helped extend my LP from 9 days average to 14 days.

The complex I took last cycle has 500mg of Vit C, but I have read that too much Vit C can make your uterus too acidic for implantation (and I eat loads of fruit already) so this time I am taking a different complex.

Also... this month i'm going to give Pineapple a try Grin

Kay00 · 14/10/2020 10:06

@MintGreenLife just read your post. I think the private blood tests seem like a really good idea xx

MancMama39 · 14/10/2020 10:20

Hi All, been lurking for a while and just wanted to say hello!

I'm 39 and just come off Cerelle (last week). TTC baby no 2, I have a 3 year old.

Not charting yet as no idea where body is up to but as soon as something happens I'll be using opks and the Glow app for tracking.

Sending baby dust to all X

ChinChilly · 14/10/2020 10:34

@Kay00 pineapple? Please enlighten me, I’ve heard of it but never really looked into it???

Hi @MancMama39 welcome, I haven’t used the glow app, may have a look at thay one... I use premom and flo at the moment

AnonymousXXIX · 14/10/2020 10:35

@Kay00 @ChinChilly have been having pineapple as well this month but mainly because it was on offer here. Yum :)

MancMama39 · 14/10/2020 10:37

@ChinChilly I keep seeing premom mentioned, I will have to look at that - wondering what else has changed since last time I tried TTC!

Also keen to hear about pineapple as I randomly have a whole one in the kitchen.... Grin

ChinChilly · 14/10/2020 10:39

@MancMama39 I mainly use it to read my OPKs, I only started using it last cycle but actually found it much more useful than flo.

I looove pineapple so if it’s going to help in any way then im up for it 😂

Kay00 · 14/10/2020 10:43

@MancMama39 Welcome! I use the Fertility Friend app - its the easiest to read if you are tracking temperatures :)

@ChinChilly - Apparently Pineapple (particularly the fibrous core) is full of Bromelain which is good for implantation. It is also an anti-inflammatory and bloody thinner. But you much only eat in large quantities after ovulation.

"Using Pineapple to Support Implantation:

First, cut the green top off and remove the outer peel of the pineapple with a knife. Then slice into 6-8 equal wedges (remember to not remove the core!). Eat 1 slice per day for 6-8 days."

ChinChilly · 14/10/2020 10:45

@Kay00 that’s interesting, thanks! I love pineapple but not sure about the core, worth a shot though!

Flowerbudd · 14/10/2020 10:47

@MintGreenLife Aw Im sorry positive though is you did ovulate and this could finally be your body recovering from the pill. My first LP was 9 days then the next cycles it went on to be just fine so i think it will be interesting to see your next cycle as things are definitely calming down.

@MancMama39 Welcome Thats really spooky, the glow app came up as an advertisement for me on Insta today...might have to check it out.

@AMS19 sending lots of luck for your new cycle xx

Kay00 · 14/10/2020 10:49

@ChinChilly apparently Brazil nuts are good too (full of selenium which helps thicken the lining of the uterus) so I will be eating a few of these every day during LP too.

MintGreenLife · 14/10/2020 10:54

@ChinChilly thanks :) at least I have a plan and some idea of what's going on I guess. Interestingly when I was about 11 I had a blood test and was told my thyroid was a little on the sluggish side, apparently the GP suggested I was tested again a few months later, but as my mum is a nurse she didn't think it was any cause for concern and left it. I also had very heavy and painful periods as a teenager, which a low thyroid can cause too. Suddenly lots of things make sense!

Thanks @Kay00 that was my thinking exactly! I'm not meant to be drinking or eating chocolate at the mo, but I have some gluten and dairy free dark choc, so I'm thinking a bit of that and a glass of wine may work wonders. My parents are visiting tomorrow too and I'm cooking for my dad's birthday, so will obviously end up having a glass then too, but then will stop ha.

@Flowerbudd I like your optimism :) I'm not convinced my LP will get better without some intervention, but hopefully in being proactive I may get an extra day or two next cycle. I mean 2 days extra is really all I need anyway! xx

ChinChilly · 14/10/2020 11:00

Pineapple and brazil nuts it is then @Kay00

@MintGreenLife it’s funny isn’t how things start to make sense like that? Is the thyroid a thing that is easily treated? I don’t know much about thyroids.

I’m determined to give it the best shot this month, CD7 at the moment so a few more days until FW and OPKs commence 😬

MintGreenLife · 14/10/2020 11:16

@ChinChilly yes and no. If your thyroid is considered underactive by the NHS, then you can be medicated to control it, but mine isn't officially 'underactive' it's essentially just sluggish. The 'normal' range is 0.5-4, and mine is 3.5, where as ideally you want it between 1-2, and it seems anything over 2.5 isn't good for TTC or pregnancy. So as mine is considered in the normal range with the NHS, I wouldn't be able to get medication to lower it. I'm hoping diet changes will help improve it.

Best of luck, hope you get a positive nice and early :) x

I see what you mean @MintGreenLife that’s annoying isn’t it.. hope the diet changes work for you!

I need to sort my diet out I’ve been eating rubbish recently and it’s starting to make me feel rubbish! I’ve got my positive pants on though so that’s a start 😂😂

PumpkinEverything · 14/10/2020 15:42

I don’t know why, but I feel like I don’t believe what I’m seeing and I’m feeling so many emotions about all this.
I caved yesterday and took a test at around 5pm just to see. Results in the photo that looks more like natural light.
Took another one first thing this morning when I woke up, which was around 6am and got this result (in the artificial light)
I can definitely see something in the both of them, but finding it so hard to trust them because they’re cheapies! 🤦‍♀️🙈
I’ve ordered FRER today but have to wait until Friday to get them from amazon! I don’t live near anywhere that I can walk to to get anything sooner.
I haven’t told anyone at all, not even my husband, until I know for sure. I’ve opened up this thread so many times today and closed it while I tried to figure it out.
I’m 12dpo today/CD42 and I’ve started getting some random cramps today for the first time since the first few day’s after ovulation.

MancMama39 · 14/10/2020 16:09

@PumpkinEverything I definitely see it! Friday should be just right for a FRER. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

Flowerbudd · 14/10/2020 16:11

@PumpkinEverything Oh my goodness! I can see something!!
Definitely wait for the FRER but there is a second line there. It looks hopeful Smile Can you take another cheapie tomorrow to compare?

Do these tests tend to have second lines as indents? If not, id be pretty excited xx

Juno231 · 14/10/2020 16:12

@PumpkinEverything omg that's clear as day!! congrats!

@MintGreenLife fingers crossed you get that borderline hypothyroidism under control! It might be worth doing a proper private check of that btw as I think the day 3 test might only check one thing whereas a proper thyroid check tests for TSH, Free T4, Anti TPO and Anti TG as well.

@Kay00 @ChinChilly OH and I both eat brazil nuts actually (they're really good for swimmers too) - and the pineapple core thing is a staple in the IVF community so it's legit! I did it for a few cycles but gave up on most of my TTC efforts a while ago lol

AMS19 · 14/10/2020 16:20

@PumpkinEverything I definitely see it!!! Amazing. Got everything crossed for Friday- looks amazing though 🙌

Tatty1987 · 14/10/2020 16:36

@PumpkinEverything I definitely see it too! Amazing! 🙌🏻

Sperr · 14/10/2020 16:37

@PumpkinEverything congratulations 🎉

Kay00 · 14/10/2020 16:41

@PumpkinEverything I would say that's looking very promising for 12DPO - how exciting!! Are you going to wait until Friday before you tell your DH?
