Late period but negative test?

My period is 3 days late. I’ve had a couple of tests with very very faint lines and the latest clear blue dye test was negative.
Has this happened to anyone before and have been pregnant? I think with my period being late it would be picking up in a test by now wouldn’t it? x

My tests are always negative for far longer than the packet says. I don’t tend to get a positive until about two weeks past my missed period and even then I get some negatives for months of pregnancy. My biggest tell is my body, sore boobs, nausea, Lightheadedness, taste changes, not feeling low on time periods due but a couple of weeks after as hormones kick in. I’m pregnant now and it took ages to confirm, though I knew it before the tests managed to show it.

Thank you! I knew before my period was late from the symptoms, but finally got a positive around 5+3. I have to withhold liquid intake the evening before and overnight to get the positive though and test first thing in the morning, any later tests or drinking lots of water like normal and I end up with a negative - even with the ‘5 days before periods due’ type tests. If you’re really hydrated, it can dilute the hormone which then causes it to show up less on tests, so if you’re someone who drinks plenty like me, it can be worth reducing intake just for the evening and night before the test, then drinking as normal as soon as it’s done. Crossing my fingers you get the result you’re hoping for xxx
