Medroxyprogesterone

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of taking medroxyprogesterone to induce a period?

I have PCOS and do not ovulate/do not have periods. I have been referred for primary infertility.

A few months ago I took medroxyprogesterone which I was told to take for 14 days, it then took I think 10 days to 2 weeks after finishing the tablets for a withdrawal bleed.

Now they've been prescribed again to induce a period as I am having blood tests on day 2-5 of my cycle and day 21 of my cycle to investigate.

My question is, this evening I have started my period, but I'm only on day 8 of taking the tablets. Does anyone know if I'm supposed to keep taking the tablets until my 14 days I was prescribed are up, or do I stop taking them because I have now started to have a withdrawal bleed?

As we're now out of hours theres no one I can ring to ask about it. It also means that when I ring up on monday morning to book a blood test, I will already be on day 4 so I really hope they have an available appointment!
