Your TTC success stories?

Me and my fiancé begin TTC this month! Excited but also a bit nervous and bewildered.

I want to know some success stories to ease my mind and also had a few questions that I can’t ask anyone in real life really (I don’t have any women in my family apart from my mother who’s a bit of a prude shall we say so I’d rather not ask her!)

  1. how often should I have sex? I don’t ovulate for another week but I don’t want to have sex now. I’m worried that it’ll ‘use his sperm up’ when we need it more next week (I understand this may sound crazy, I’m wanting to know if this is true, please forgive me. Never tried for a baby before)

  2. Any ways to de stress? I feel like during the TWW I’ll be worried that the pregnancy test will end up negative or try to symptom spot etc. How do I remain calm?

So success stories and tips would be appreciated! Both currently taking prenatal vitamins, both don’t smoke or drink. We exercise and have a balanced diet. Both under 30, I’m under 25 (which my username gives away!) and we’ve cut out caffeine too.

This definitely isn't how it works OP, seem doesn't run out 😁

1,500 sperm are produced every second so don't worry about your DP running out 😁

In terms of not stressing, don't let TTC take over your life. It's very easy to let it be all you think about and to over analyse everything. Just relax, enjoy having regular sex with your partner whenever you want and every other day during your fertile week and wait and see what happens. It might take a long time so just take it easy. Just carry on as you have been but eat healthy, get exercise and start taking folic acid now. Also don't turn sex into a military operation, it can feel a bit weird otherwise.

I started TTC in Aug 2019, got pregnant on the first cycle but had a miscarriage in Oct. Then carried on TTC and started using Clear blue digital ovulation tests and turns out I was ovulating 3 days sadly than I thought and got PG first month of using it. Now 9+2 and saw my baby yesterday :)

@ShalomToYouJackie first of all, so sorry for your loss Flowers but a huge congratulations on your rainbow baby! Wishing you nothing but happiness and health for them

And thank you so much for the advice! I am trying to not let it take over and I think to not let it take over I need to drop the fear of having sex on non fertile days being ‘pointless’. When we’re only having sex now to have a baby! Beforehand it’s always been for us and that’s how it should be just without contraception (and of course to make a baby but I should stop looking at it as just that)

Thank you again

@Gowiththeflow97 my best advice is try to enjoy the process, especially at your age and with how healthy you and your partner both sound. For what it’s worth, I stopped my pill at the end of July, sort of half heartedly tried in August and nothing happened... then went hell for leather in September and I got my BFP a week ago. And I’m a little overweight and very partial to a drink!

Sounds like you’re doing everything right. Good luck x

Look up SMEP and follow it to a degree (worked for me twice) my first pregnancy didn't work out and I think it's because we weren't DTD very regularly and therefore possibly about quality.

The next two pregnancies (this one has stuck so far!!) from day 8 we did every other day to keep it regular then from the +ve OPK we did every day for about 5/6 days in a row.

Definitely enjoy it, though, don't get too in your head! Relaxing is key.

Good luck!! xx
