Hi everyone, I gave birth 4 months ago to a gorgeous little boy, me and my partner had sex For the first time about 9 weeks ago used a condom Due to me not been on any Extra protection yet and the condom split, I went and got the morning after pill and had a period about 3 weeks later, I haven’t had a period since so I thought to be safe I would do a test (the pharmacist said Just like anything the morning after pill has a small chance of not working) and the faintest line has come up, I couldn’t even see it at first but left another 5 minutes and it came up. Just wondering if this could still be my hormones from my last pregnancy or am I the minor few percentage of people that the morning after pill hasn’t worked for haha! Attached a pic to show the faint line, thank you in advance for replies

Hmm, tricky one. HCG levels shouldn't still be elevated 4 months after birth (however I'm no expert on this) but there is definitely a line there! Was the 9 weeks ago the only time you dtd as the test is too faint for that. If you dtd without protection after your period there's a chance it's a true positive. However, it needs to come up within the timeframe or isn't valid. Given your unique situation I'd probably call the doctors, they might want to do a blood test to check, or maybe do another test in a couple of days. Hope you get the answer you hope for. Let us know what happens x

@LemonRizzle thank you so much for replying literally just sat twiddling my thumbs atm wondering what to do with myself haha! We have had sex since but with a condom, Luckily I have bought two so I will definitely do another one to double check it and then contact the doctors depending on result, very strange isn’t it! wondering if it could be evaporation line? It’s just it looks pink to me rather than see through 🙈 I’ve just worked out too I took the morning after pill exactly 7 weeks ago This Friday my apologies should have worked out exact before posting, so I had my period 4 weeks ago so would be due This week ? Maybe wait another week until I’ve definitely missed AF?

Is that one of the freedom tests from Asda? If so they are rubbish for giving false positives if that helps. I used to get second faint lines a lot with them when I wasn’t pregnant

LayingLow · 29/09/2020 22:22

Definitely see a line :/ I dont no much else to say x

Holhunt · 29/09/2020 22:31

It is from Asda only reason I used them is because they’re the ones I used to test last time when I was pregnant and it was positive I did use a clear blue one a few days later to double check and it said I was pregnant so that’s what I was going to do this time if it was a strong positive just get a clear blue one to double check x

It certainly looks positive. But if you were 7-9 weeks it would be much darker so if this is a true result you would be 3-4 weeks pregnant now.

Holhunt · 29/09/2020 23:44

Yeah when I found out I was pregnant before I was 9 weeks and the line was so dark my great nan bless her thought it might be twins haha! Well I guess in the next couple of weeks we will find out! Thank you everybody so much x

That does look positive. Try another brand of test?

CC12x · 30/09/2020 11:57

Hi Op, the tests from asda are rubbish and always gave false positives. But the one you have took this morning is very strong and actually looks positive 😀 good luck x

calimommy · 30/09/2020 16:39

Haha that looks darker OP, I'd say you are definitely pregnant. Probably about 4 weeks though. So count back your days 😂

StillMedusa · 30/09/2020 18:27

I was pregnant again 4 months after my first was born.. it only took once...!
That does look positive to me, but just to reassure you..having two so close together is actually brilliant.. tiring, but brilliant!

Sophielou8 · 30/09/2020 18:47

That one defo looks positive to me, even with all my failed ones I never had it that’s strong x

Bumble84 · 30/09/2020 18:58

Is it possible the morning after pill worked but when you had sex after that the condom failed, even though it didn’t split?

Holhunt · 30/09/2020 19:21

Thank you all for your replies, I think deep down I know it’s positive but I’m just in denial haha! I’ve bought a clear blue test ready to take next week (when I’ve definitely missed AF) and we’ll go from there, I am really excited but nervous at the same time with all the coronavirus stuff my partners job isn’t fully secure atm (they’re going to be ringing in the next couple of weeks to discuss what’s going on) but if he loses his job I’m worried we won’t cope financially 😩 and I must admit my little boy sleeps really well for his age (8:30Pm until 1:30Pm then 1:30Am until between 6 and 8am) so I’m hoping I can cope with the proper sleep deprivation when there’s two little humans waking me up haha!

Holhunt · 30/09/2020 19:24

But if the condom failed after that then it must have only been a very very tiny split because nor me or my partner didn’t notice (unless he did notice but was scared to tell me) haha, damn you durex! But no i know there’s positive and negatives of having two very close together but overall I am quite excited

Bumble84 · 30/09/2020 19:54

I don’t think a condom has to split to fail, sometimes one of those suckers just gets through! Best of luck OP whatever the outcome anyway!

Mooey89 · 30/09/2020 21:34

Those tests definitely look positive but I have been burnt by false ones on those before! Get a frer x
