Clearblue test - line or evap?

10dpo today. I've been having on and off cramping. I took a clearblue early detection test yesterday afternoon and there was a vv faint line straight away which has since disappeared as the test dried up. Took one this morning with FMU and it came up with a faint line again but a little bit darker than the one yesterday afternoon. Also took a red dye IC (same sensitivity) at the same time and it was negative. I've had this with these tests three times now, always have faint lines that have colour to it and end up coming on my period Sad. Do you think this is a positive or is it an evap?

Looks positive ✨🤞🏻

Nam095 · 28/09/2020 07:52

I unfortunately also have had many faint ‘positives’ on these tests that turned out to be evap lines. I think I’m going to stop using them from now on. The last one I took there was a visible line on the plastic before I even took the test. I’m sorry to say but I wouldn’t trust them :(

lepnee · 28/09/2020 07:57

Thank you @ashlee89

@Nam095 I know. It's so disheartening. It's like it gives me a glimpse of hope every time I see the line. I don't have any more of these other than the digital one so can't even test again to see if the line is getting darker. IC's are showing a BFN and if I was to try a regular test, it would very likely be a negative due to being less sensitive. I hope it works out for me this month Sad

@lepnee I know exactly what you mean. Whenever I think I see a line I get all excited and hopeful, and then my period comes a couple days later. It’s literally happened to me today, AF just started and I had a faint positive on a clear blue on a couple days before :(

The ICs will also be less sensitive I believe, could you wait until 14dpo to take one then? But I know how hard that is, trust me, I took one almost every day from 9dpo until 13dpo 🙈 I really hope you get a BFP, fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼x

lepnee · 28/09/2020 08:28

@Nam095 it's horrible Sad I always thought they were super reliable tests. I think 14DPO for me would be after AF is due, due on Thursday/Friday. I took another pic in better lighting. Have any of your faint positives looked like this? x

It's definitely positive. Mine looked like that a couple of weeks ago at 9/10 po

eloiseislost · 28/09/2020 09:29

It definitely looks positive but I would do a FRER in a couple of days to be sure! Tentative congratulations!

eloiseislost · 28/09/2020 09:29

Oh sorry, missed your second test photo! Non-tentative, huge congratulations!!

Mooey89 · 28/09/2020 09:34

Congratulations! Definitely positive

lepnee · 28/09/2020 11:00

Awh thank you!! I hope this one sticks 😁 even with my 2 chemicals before, I never got a positive (not even a glimpse of a line) on these tests. I've requested bloods from my gp to check my hcg level is definitely rising the way it should.

Mine looks exactly like your first one!! I am stuck!!!
I went for a check up and they told me there was a very faint positive and that I need to go back for an appointment and that’s exactly what I’m doing but it’s not until the end of this week!! I can’t figure out wether this is an evap line or positive! I took a pink dye test last night and it came up negative I’m so confused!!

Looks positive to me!
I'm 16 dpo, I used those tests yesterday and had the same result as you - faint and then disappeared in a few hours.

I'm 2 days late and very dull cramps xx

lepnee · 28/09/2020 16:38

Thank you all! Took an FRER earlier and cam up with this. I just hope it's not another chemical 😩

Hope you @Jen8888 and @Macbookbaby get the results you hope for ❤️

It's hard to compare the results among different brands, but the line looks fairly strong! Smile
Macbookbaby · 28/09/2020 19:45

Omg!! Congratulations I’m so happy for you!!! Fingers crossed everything will be okay!! Keep getting my hopes up whenever I see a line!! x

Congratulations @lepnee I was said gatecrasher!

Did a Clearblue Digital today and got Pregnant "1-2 weeks" which by my estimations must be incorrect?

My traditional pregnancy tests have all given the weakest lines, however seem to have "matured" over the past 2 days, which I know means nothing.

Feel like this is a chemical pregnancy?

Not that I even know what that fully means, but surely at 17dpo I should be getting a stronger line xx

Hi @Jen8888, don't be fooled. Someone on this thread has already said that we shouldn't compare 2 different brands of tests and that is actually very true. With the clearblue digital test, by 1-2 weeks they mean from conception so you are actually about 3-4 weeks pregnant. When is AF due for you? I actually took a clearblue digital (not the one with the weeks indicator) and it came back as negative but that is just because it was in the afternoon and it's still way to early to test with a test that isn't as sensitive as the ones I've taken already. I will wait another day or two Smile. Hope this one stick for you, fingers crossed for both of us xx

Thanks @lepnee my period was due on Sunday so still so early I guess.

It's all the bloody YouTube videos where it seems typical to get a BFP at 10dpo and then a perfect line progression! Xx

Praying for both of us
