When to test

Hi all!

So it's my first month TTC - and I'm currently 7 DPO.

Well aware that it's super early and way too early to test, but I've seen some stories of people managing to get their BFP this early on! 🥳✨

I'm trying to hold off testing until at LEAST 10DPO so not looking to test right now.

Just wondered what everyone's symptoms were pre- BFP? I'm really crampy this evening down low, also got shooting pains in my bottom?! And headaches, fatigue and boobs that look like road maps - dark blue veins all over the place 😂🤷‍♀️

I would try hold out until atleast 12-13dpo I'm currently 10dpo and been testing since yesterday, yes it's still too early but seeing a bfn really puts you in a negative mindset

I’m generally nauseated from around 10 DPO - this is my one reliable symptom. I know people on here test early but I would try to hold off until your period is due. In my experience testing early leads to a lot of stress and disappointment- not to mention a waste of money! Good luck - hope you get a BFP soon.

I agree. I held off until period due at DPO13 whixh gave lovely strong lines on FRER and clear on One Step cheapies. It takes a lot of the anxiety out of squinting at lines

@MummyToPrince thank you! I will keep holding out. Yes I agree, seeing negatives must be hard ☹️ will keep positive and keep waiting! X

@Moo678 thank you! I will keep holding out! Yes I agree tests are so expensive I don't want to be testing regularly so early and getting no end of BFN's !!!

Xx

@TheDaydreamBelievers amazing thank you, I'm going to hold out and try a FRER after 11-12+ DPO ☺️ xx

Would wait till 12dpo as saves money on tests and you get a clear line usually if positive with a FRER.

@becca3210 fab thank you! It's my first time TTC so trying my best not to go insane looking for symptoms! 😂🤣 xx

Does anybody know; at 8DPO should you be noticing anything / feeling anything different..?
As I understand, implantation may only happen around 6-10DPO so may not have even happened for me yet.

Just interested to know - the only sign I've had if any, is that my boobs have thick dark blue veins, very prominent running to the areola & nipple..

🤷‍♀️🤣

Wait, early testing is usually non conclusive, and can also give false hope because many conceptions fail to properly implant etc. The day your period is due was what I was told, ideally just wait until you are late. I know you want to know but you have 9 months of waiting, hold out a few days

movingonup20 · 26/09/2020 08:10

Ps a didn't even test with Dd2, I was late and had terribly sore breasts from around the time my period was due.
