Luteal phase getting shorter

Just as the title says! My husband and I are starting to TTC#2 but I feel like it's a pointless endeavour right now!

I had my son at the end of December 2019 and my periods returned around 8 weeks later. I didn't track for the first couple but they were very short. Since April I have been temping and using OPK's and my luteal phase has only been 9 days. Not ideal, but I conceived my son the first month of trying with a luteal phase of 10 days so I've tried not to be too down about it.
This was our first month TTC. I got a positive OPK on day 17 and a temperature increase confirmed ovulation on day 18 but my period came today so my luteal phase was only 8 days.

Has anyone had this where their luteal phase got shorter? Did it get longer again?! I'm feeling really down about it. Obviously I have one gorgeous healthy baby but we didn't want a long gap between children and it's now looking like that could happen.

Thanks for reading if you have!

Hi @RLI1105 I have only be been tracking for past three months but my Luteal phase went from 10 days down to 8. This last month I started taking a B Complex vitamin (high levels of Vit B6 and B12) and my luteal phase lasted to 14 days! It was a cheap and effective fix.

Thank you for messaging back @Kay00 ! I've taken B Complex previously but found it gave me terrible headaches. I might try it again this month and see...

Hi @RLI1105

I had irregular periods with my first so not sure with him but when started ttc #2 I started temping and realised I had a short luteal phase and would spot about 9dpo then period start 10dpo. I had been trying for a year then decided to take pregnacare conception tablets this month which has vit b6 in and I got my BFP this morning. I was also taking yoursuper moon balance powder with natural food supplements to help balance hormones. Obviously not sure if tablets actually legnthened luteal phase but I feel it helped.
I have heard of lots of ladies getting pregnant with short luteal phases though.
Good luck xx

@Hg1994 thanks for messaging!
I've been taking pregnacare and the Holland and Barrett own brand (not at the same time) for months now. 😫 I'm going to try B Complex again this month and hope I don't get headaches.
Even 10 days I think I would be okay with but 8 is a no go
