Has *anyone* ever had success at TTC after DEPO PROVERA?

I am sooooooo frustrated. TTC second baby, had only 2 shots of depo (evil evil thing), last one October 06. Periods came back after 8 months but tests have shown that my hormone levels are not back to normal yet.

Please give me any hope that I will get pregnant. I'm thinking of complaining to the gp about being offered depo in the first place.

Probably posting on the wrong board as you're all trying too! May try on the pregnancy board if there are no success stories on here...

I had one shot of depo in erm Marchish of 2001. I hated it, felt ill and sick and tired on it so never had another shot.

I came off it and went to the docs around xmas time because my periods still hadn't returned. I was told it can take a while and to wait a while longer. In March 02, I got a + pregnancy test and ds was born in december.

It took me nearly 18 months after my last jab but we got there in the end, hope you do too

I had 3 shots of deepo it took me a year to fall pregnant from the last shot.

I was due a shot in the January (didn't have it) suddenly started losing weight in the July/August then fell pregnant very early September

so it did take until the July/August for my hormone levels to sort out as it was the deepo that had caused the weight gain and had periods/bleeds whilst on deepo any way

I had several courses of it, last one in January 2006, fell pg with ds2 in late July 2006

I was on depo for 2 years. It took well over a year to fall pregnant with DS after coming off it.

I wouldn't have started it if I had known the trouble it would cause.

I had my last depo in November 2004 - still waiting for bfp!!!

God it's a bugger isn't it? I don't think it should be offered at all to women who are still thinking of having another child / children.

MellowMa - I was charting on fertility friend once my periods were back, and it showed I was ovulating (temp rise etc), but a recent blood test showed the hormone levels weren't high enough for the egg to stay put (or something like that didn't really understand!). I know I'm slowly getting back to normal as my CM is getting more and more obvious around ovulation time, so fingers crossed.

Minxi - for you. I've heard that detoxing can help get the depo out of your system - however by this time it really should have gone completely. Hope you get a BFP soon.

I also saw a herbalist and she gave me something but I've no idea if it's helped or not. Will let you know any good news when I have it!

took me nearlly 2 years

I had Depo once and it was followd by 2 years of hell.
I bled everyday leading to anemia, i had daily migrains and just felt dizzy and crap.

I concieved fine after 3 years.

My sister had been on it for years and has a little girl (it failed her once) she has a really scatty period cycle where for months she will have no period then one month she will have 3.

Its a bloody horrible screwey drug in my opinion but u hear it has worked well for others.

came off it in August this year.
